I have listened to the vol fans for years speak of their dislike for Florida but disdain for Bama. Now nobody, I mean nobody, puts a merciless beat down on Tennessee, every year, like the Gators. Once it's over, they groan and moan a little and then go back to their passionate dislike for Crimson.

I think LSU has a lot of these same misplaced, inner feelings and this is almost the identical situation we found ourselves at, in the SECCG.

Don't get discouraged, but folks we got more work to do.

Well, this is assuming that they win every other game.

It could matter. For example, Bama could lose to FL and AU, and win all the rest. LSU could lose to Bama and win all the rest. In this case the loss to FL would cost them the SECCG.

I know it is unlikely, but possible. I was there when we beat them in the 90's when they were ranked number one. There have been plenty of upsets in the Bama/Au series.

The season is still early, and I hope they get beat like a drum!

Technically a bama loss would help us but I kinda want them undefeated when they roll into BR. I like our chances.

Well if this goes down I believe it would help us.....we play both AU and Bama before the Bama AU game. we would beat a ranked aubie, but Bama would lose to a prob unranked AU team. So Bama would drop harder losing to an unranked opp. Than a 8th ranked LSU team losing to a number 1 ranked Bama. We then should be ranked higher and the tie breaker is highest in polls. Which I believe this year would put us in the SECC game.

I can't say it would be easy to not root for either not to loose. But the tie breaker goes to Bama to win - but only because I enjoy TUSKtimes and there is no Gater couter balance

    Florida for sure.

If your hopes are for an SEC West title, then certainly Florida winning helps out the case.

If your hope is for a national title shot, then again Florida is what you want.

You want Florida in the top 3 in the nation (which is what a win does for them this week) when we play them (as opposed to #15 and if we beat them again they are almost out of the top 25). Alabama will recover from this loss and get back into the top 3 by the time we play them.

We should hope for a Florida loss. We have to play both these teams this season but we get Bama at our place. Florida is on the road and will be a tougher win for us. Florida needs a loss.

Yep, no question about it. I really can't think of why anyone in the SECw, other than a Bama fan, would want it any other way. Sorry Tusk nothing personal, but we have always got to be looking out for OUR #1.:LSU231:
