Since Ridley and Murphy both put the ball on the ground last week, do you think the coaching staff will give the start to Ford to show those two guys that fumbling is not gonna fly? I'm not saying don't play them early, I'm just saying it will hit them hard and probably help them focus more if they had to sit on the sidelines and watch Ford get the start.

Plus, I want to see Ford carry the ball really bad. He was nasty in the spring game and I just believe he has the "IT" factor.

    Thoughts?

Ridley put the ball on the carpet against Penn State, too. I'd give Ford and Ware carries against Vandy - Riddley and Murphy can both keep company on the pine discussing the care of a football.

I say play them all. Anyone can make mistakes in the first game, when it becomes a pattern, then it's a serious problem. However, in order to see them all, we can't
    -stall on offense
    -commit stupid penalties

I never had a problem splitting time between RB's, and am glad when they all worry the defense.

They all need to carry the rock, but until Ridley and Murphy learn to hold on to it I agree let Ford have the opportunity to show em how it is done.

I'm not saying its a good reason but maybe there is a reason Ford didn't get the ball against UNC.

Are you suggesting that the coaches could possibly see something we don't:wave:

The only reason I can see for that is because UNC made a comeback in the second half, which is where Miles probably wanted to put him in there. I understand them not putting Ford in the game in the second half because you would think that Ridley would not put the ball on the ground again..

So, with that said, does Ford get his chance to shine or not on Saturday?

Well given how he played in the spring game, there almost has to be a reason he didn't play. I thought he would be our starter until word came out in camp that he wouldn't be. Does he have an issue that we all don't know about? Someone posted (how's that for legitamcy ) that Ford was having troble picking up the blitz. No idea if thats accurate but something like that could be the reason. I don't think its because the Ridley and Murphy run the ball more effectively than he does. $00.02

Ridley played good other than the fumbles, Murphy has no business being on the field. They should be working in Ford and possibly Blue later on.
