Dont try to sell facts to most on this board Winston. Had we passed and mssed it would have been "why didnt we run the FB up the middle it was working" and so on and so on get my drift.
Damm if O wouldnt have fumbled and if O wouldnt have blew that field goal and missed that block and blew that coverage, damm coach O.
O is a great cheerleader since he has no influence on a gd thing on the field. It's really hard to lead cheers when the players aren't executing. Too bad we don't hire somebody to make sure the players don't execute better. Actually, that would be a great idea. We could call this position "Head Coach". Do you think it would work?
Neaux I dont. Very clever but makes neaux sense unless O has told the staff to tell them not to execute, thats probably it we were executing to well in the last 5 games and O told them to back off and fumble more, bust coverages and muff a snap. Damm you coach O.
It doesn't matter what the staff tells them, players' execution is not a function of any external stimuli. The coaching staff is available to give hot cocoa (ala Miles) and foot rubs, players execute based on their own whims.
My preference is still Herman and then Petersen. If they both say no, I wouldn't be ecstatic about Jimbo but I wouldn't be sad either. Coach O doesn't make my list because I believe that if he gets the job, firing Les Miles will look like a bad decision in 3 years or so. LSU will become a 7-8 win a year team at best. I just don't see the potential that some of you see. Others I would consider... in no particular order: PJ Fleck - Western Michigan Jeff Brohm - Louisville Pat Fitzgerald - Northwestern Matt Wells - Utah State Matt Ruhle - Temple Extreme Long Shot - Todd Monken. Monken was once OC at Oklahoma State under Gundy and then head coach at Southern Miss for 3 seasons. In 3 seasons he completely turned around their football program after Ellis Johnson single handedly destroyed it. He then moved on to be the OC with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a significant pay raise. Was at LSU briefly... I think he was on the staff for Les' first year here.
Too many are giving Orgeron a pass for being just as mediocre as Miles. We have beaten one team worth a crap this season. Surprising because this board was right on target for the last few years on Miles. Had we kept Miles, we would probably be 6-4 right now so I don't see where Orgeron has done anything special. Yeah. He loves LSU. So do all of us. None of us is qualified to be the head coach.
