Is that entirely true? Or do you just want money spent on the things you feel are important, and spending cuts in areas you feel aren't? The GOP will campaign on cutting spending but they are just going to spend that money elsewhere. I really think we are in a lose lose situation here.

I want it brought under control and I don't care who gets left behind in the process. SS and Medicare/Medicaid need serious reform and pork needs to be eliminated. No one gets anything until the debt is paid. If I have to eat squirrel and dandelions to survive, so be it. The current path will lead to disaster.

And I voted for Jindal because I thought he was an intellectual and I didn't realize what an ideologue he was. Jindal won't be seeking another state position, I'm thinking. He wants a National cabinet appointment to set him up for a future Presidential bid. The state is going to be a financial shambles when he leaves office. If he decides to run for the Senate he probably won't be running against Landrieu because she will be governor. :D

Actually I voted for Obama because he was "not the republican". Hillary is still my man.

People seem to think that the GOP are opposed to all social programs, but we aren't. I am find with helping out Americans who need it, but it pisses me off when we fund some of the dumb chit here when we send like 200+ mil to the Afgan government each month.

We need to cut 80% of this foreign aid chit first IMO...

You can cut all foreign aid from the budget and you go from a deficit of 1.45 trillion dollars to a deficit of 1.449999 trillion dollars. Cutting pork, fraud, waste and abuse and all the other things the Republicans and Tea Party folks talk about will not come anywhere close to solving our budget issues.

We have to drastically scale back our defense spending, and reform Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. That is our only path out.
