Agree in a way. I hope I'm right and she serves her purpose for the media then she fades away. There has to be a reasonable Conservative out there - I have a feeling Jindal is going to run as well. I also hope he waits. It's too early. He'd end up being just as amateurish as this administration is because he's not jaded enough yet.
We really haven't had a quality candidate since Reagan. Can we really expect to have better choices in three years? Here's what we know thus far... *Democrats will bring their current candidate. :nope: *Independents will make a great argument but people will revert to one of the other two parties. :nope: *The environmentalists, drug addict, and free love parties will just make noise as usual. :nope: And then there are the Republicans. Will they come back to being conservatives? Will they unite? Will they identify a better candidate than McCain? I think people are catching on and getting tired of the "blame Bush" tactics and hopefully start holding this administration (and more importantly this lousy Congress) accountable for wasting billions and not creating jobs. If so, 2012 could be interesting!
Sad but true. Independents have no choice other than to not vote at all. If there is one thing in the world that Republicans and Democrats agree on, it is that they cannot allow a moderate third party to emerge.
also it should be noted that the two parties are so close to each other that you cant really slip any moderate party between them. like if a repub favors x billion in bailouts and the dem favors x plus 1 billion in bailouts, will the moderate favor x plus 0.5 billion in bailouts? there is already so little difference between them. and when there is a difference, one party is generally right, and the other wrong, with no worthwhile moderate position in between. the only possible viable third party is socially extreme and fiscally extreme by today's standards.
Yet you steadfastly defend Obama. Go figure. Explained. She knew she was lame duck and felt Barbour could be more effective. You don't have to agree but it's not like she left AK in the lurch. You are looking to be negative. Explained. Question from Couric was late in the interview and Couric was being a bitch. Palin gave a smart ass answer because the real question was "Do you read?" Do you honestly think she cannot answer that simple question?
I defend him from meaningless accusations from the ultra right. I don't agree with everything that he has done but you denigrate him daily for things you worry about happening some day in the future, Chicken Little. Lame, lame excuse. It's totally relevant for a politician who quits before a term is complete to be criticized for lack of seriousness about her obligations to the electorate. Especially when you quit to write a book and angle for national politics. If she was bright enough, she would have realized that this will dog her forever. Well, she didn't. I can see that you didn't actually see the interview! Palin was horrible. She didn't know what to say to Couric, who wasn't being a bitch at all. She just kept asking the question when Palin was trying to change the topic. Palin had been taking criticism about being a lightweight with no knowledge of national and international politics. Couric gave her an opportunity to show how just how well-read she was on these topics but Palin was exposed as under-informed and unprepared for the big leagues. It wasn't just that. The whole interview made her look like a lightweight. She makes Les look articulate.
truths: red does in fact defend obama, for no real reason palin is in fact stupid and unarticulate couric meant to make palin look dumb, which is easy. the media hates palin and loves obama.
