You prefer Ole Miss over Miss St? What is wrong with you

I personally will never vote for Ole Miss for anything that helps them

I'm just for swapping out Miss State with Texas A&M or Texas. Texas A&M isn't that great. Texas is pretty good, but its just adding one good team to our schedule, like we did with VT last year. I just really don't like Miss State as a program. I'm cool with keeping Arkansas, Alabama, and Ole Miss in the West. As for Auburn, I don't really like them as a program either, but I do like the recent history we have between the two of us, so I'd probably vote for letting them stay.

If the powers that be followed JohnLSU's reasoning they would get rid of MSU, Vandy, UK and S.C. and replace them with Texas, aTm, Miami and FSU, thus ensuring that no team from the SEC east would ever win a national title.

As for Miss State being considered an "up-and-coming" SEC West rival, here are some funny comments by Miss State fans regarding how they view their program. They are comments reacting to the news that QB Chris Garrett of Tupelo, MS (who is from a family of Miss State fans) decided to play for LSU (after he first committed to Miss State).

This is really disheartening news. ... we’ll never be able to sign an elite QB that will take our program beyond the mediocre level (and that’s generous), if we couldn’t get this one.

If we are legit 5* recruits, we are probably not going to play for Ole Miss, MS State or USM for that matter

Facing the facts, folks: no high school QB with aspirations of championships and statistics would choose MSU right now.

Can’t blame him. Although, it’s hard to imagine that he turned down our high powered offense.

Can you really blame the kid for wanting to play for a team that is a winner, instead of getting crushed by LSU year after year?

Anyone that expected him to sign with us is a fool. ... Watch LSU’s offense. Then watch our “offense.” Which one would you rather play for if you’re supposed to be a legitimate, big time QB with NFL hopes someday? I know if it were me, I certainly wouldn’t want to play for Croom & Woody’s cluster of an offense that can’t break the top 100 in 4 effing years.

I’ve been a State fan my whole life but frankly, if I had to choose between State and LSU to pursue my football and academic careers, I’d choose LSU. More money is put into that program. You know that you’ll get the exposure each and every week. You know that you’ll get the necessary facilities and coaching deserved. Hell, at our school, we’re constantly worried if our [head] coaches will leave for money. The main thing they’re worried about is if they’re [assistant] coaches will take HEAD coaching jobs elsewhere

offensively we are going to have to fire woody because nobody wants to come play for an “O-ffensive” offense…..especially QBs…..

If you expected Garret to choose MState over LSU, you are a fool. A program that goes 10-2 every year or a program that *might* win 6 or 7 under the current regime, and that’s if you’re lucky. A team with lots of talented players around you to...throw the ball to or a team with some decent players...and WRs incapable of getting separation with bricks for hands? A program that gets multiple players drafted on the first day every year or a program that gets a first day player maybe once ever 2-4 years if we’re lucky? Offensive coaches that can effectively develop players and mix up the playcalling or offensive coaches that thought Money Mike was the answer at QB and are among the most conservative in all of college football? It’s no real choice.

to answer the thread title: alabama. saban's a good coach and he's recruiting well.

but as far as moo u goes, i don't want to kick them out. i'm so used to beating them, it's like they're kinda harmless. the homicidal rage i feel for florida b/c of the spurrier era and their fans is pretty much the opposite of what i feel for state. the only win they have over us in recent memory is when the refs missed their guy crawling into the end zone.

in fact, when i was in school some guys from miss st came down for the game and they challenged me and my friends to a drinking competition. we absolutely destroyed them.

i offered a cattle roping or chaw spitting contest to even things up, but they didn't want the easy win. good people though.

God if I was them i would hate us so much.
