I think Mississippi St. isn't an "embarassment" by any means

They handily defeated Tulane, who we struggled a bit with. They also defeated Auburn, which is very impressive. They beat Kentucky, a team we lost to and also had great wins against Alabama, Ole Miss and UCF. They are definitely on the rise and you are going way overboard by calling them an embarassment to the SEC West. There isn't a single team in the SEC West that we can take lightly.

Fine, you are right. Their win against Tulane was particularly impressive. I wonder if Alabama can handle Tulane next year. After all, we had problems with Tulane last year (just like we did with Auburn, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ole Miss... all teams that Miss State beat last year).

Before the Miss State game next year, I'll try to remember that it it might be a good thing to pitch them as the #1 team in the nation, just so we don't take them lightly.

we were the best team in the country. if you defined a programs success against #1 teams, and i am not going to use google (i know, i sharted my spongebob pajamas too), you will probably find an unfortunate record for the underdog.

mississippi st. is no vanderbilt. and no reasonable human uses head-to-heads to describe programs.

    Overall point is this:

A lot of you come across like you believe Miss State is a possible loss next year, right?

Yet, when I recently saw other TF members agreeing with a prediction that LSU will have a one-loss season next year, I didn't see anybody here having a problem with that... even though we play a lot better teams that Miss State next year. To me, Miss State is the least we have to worry about just in the SEC West. Sure, you people bring up good points that we should worry about them, and I agree... to expect a one-loss season is insane.

    no

again, because they may be a loss doesnt mean they are equivalent to a school next to a fire station on brightside. is it that hard to figure out?

I still think Miss State is an embarrassment to the SEC West. It's just my opinion. I personally think they aren't worthy of being in the SEC. I don't feel that way about any other SEC West team. I'm sorry I feel that way, but that's how I feel.

As for up-and-coming SEC rivals, to me, it is Petrino's Arkansas and Saban's Alabama, not Croom's Miss State.

more so than Ole Piss?

Saban's bama team improved by 1 whole game compared to Shula's. Croom took a dawg team that Jakie Sherill destroyed, and had them in a bowl last year (beating Auburn and Bama). He's got them heading in the right direction.

Mississippi State is QB away from being very good. Losing Garrett had to hurt.

To me, the most impressive coaching I saw last year as far as accomplishing the most, with the least. The guy is a stand up man. He's a disciplinarian yet his love for his kids very obvious after their bowl win over a solid UCF team who played Texas to a close 32-35 loss early in the season.

    Miss St. Recruiting class rankings:

    ’04..............#62
    ’05..............#33
    ’06..............#44
    ’07..............#39
