It seems to happen in every conference, every year. There's usually one "elite" team that simply doesn't meet expectations and ends up with more losses than predicted and fewer wins than predicted. Of the following elite teams which one will be the "chosen one" this year?

    Georgia, Florida, LSU & Auburn.

I will hang up and let y'all discuss. :thumb:

*Note- For those that could possibly interpret this as a "trying to subtly suggest LSU will not meet expectation". This is not the case and please do not take it that way. I've posted this EXACT same post (word for word) on two other boards just trying to get good discussions going.

My vote would go to Georgia. I'm not sure if they were surprisingly good last year, or if they simply overachieved.

Georgia (so far) is the consensus team that people are picking to not do as well as predicted.

It's because everybody hates Trev Alberts.

Florida. Picked by some to win the SEC, they're probably the 4th best team in the SEC. That's a way too early prediction though.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: I think the jury's still out on Auburn. They'll be good, but I'm not sure they'll be as good as what they're being picked for (SEC West Champ). This is due to a lot of speculation regarding their new spread offense. May work, may not. Teams are better at defending that now (see Florida last year). Guess we'll have to wait and see. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Weighed against their SEC Media Days predicted order of finish:

Florida will probably not disappoint. Tebow alone is a monster and that young defense will be much better this year.

No way does Georgia finish lower than second in the East (who else is there?), so that's a pretty safe prediction.

Same goes for LSU in the West. They are a lock for either first or second in their division.

I'll say Auburn is the most likely to not meet expectations. They have new coordinators, new systems, and a new QB.

That being said, I still think they go 9-3 and MIGHT still win the West as predicted...but in my mind, they are the most likely to not meet expectations.

Georgia is gonna lose 3 games this year.
That would be considered a huge disappointment to a team predicted to compete for a National Title.

I say Georgia and Florida. I believe Alabama will exceed expectations and whup Auburn, finally. The showdown in Baton Rouge against he-whose-name-shall-not-be-typed decides who faces Gawgaw in the SECCG.

    Georgia - it's the schedule.

In four successive weeks beginning on Oct 25th, UGA is:
    @ LSU
    @ Florida (Jax)
    @ Kentucky
    @ Auburn

IMO, the UT-UF game on Sept 20th may decide the east. Both Florida and Tennessee have a week off prior to this matchup and it will be a physical war ....... much like LSU-AU on the same day.
