When reading the paragraph under Mississippi, it doesn't seem like that they seem too excited about taking LSU even if Ole Miss were to win their last two. I think they are honestly leaning towards a South Carolina/North Carolina matchup. That would be an absolutely awesome game for a regional rivalry, and it wouldn't require much travel at all.
What are our chances of going back to the Independence Bowl? Not that I want to go, but if LSU loses to Arky and maybe badly, is it a possibility? Or is LSU too "good?"
I wouldn't mind a trip to the Liberty Bowl. A C-USA opponent we could very likely beat up on, and an excuse for a road trip to Memphis. :thumb:
Someone had posted somewhere on here that there weren't enough bowl eligible teams in the SEC for us to fall that far down.
Right now there are 8 SEC teams bowl eligible. Not counting the BCS I think the SEC is partnered with 8 non BCS bowl games.
As much as I would've liked the Cotton Bowl because I live in Dallas, I would also have wondered if we'd just get embarrassed there this year.
Yup, some bowls are gonna have a problem.... looks like 8 SEC teams... you had 10 qualifiers last year. The Big Ten also had 10 teams qualify last year... only 7 this year.
With two SEC teams going to the BCS, it is impossible to fill the last two SEC Bowl Tie-Ins: BCS- Florida and Alabama C1- Jawja Cotton- Ole Miss Outback- LSU Chick-fil-a- South Carolina Liberty- Kentucky Music City- Vanderbilt Independence, Papajohns.com- Not Enough Teams
