There is a difference between Islam and Islamic terrorism. Bush and now Trump aren't afraid to use the words Islamic terrorism. When Hillary refused to say in during one of the debates she drove yet another nail in her chances if being elected. And of course Obama's full name is Barack Hussein Obama. Can't get much more Islamic than that if you rode a camel.

Just a second sport. There is a world of difference between what Obama and W did when dealing with Islam and Islamic terrorism. W was very careful to separate the two. Obama was/is afraid to recognize that Islam is too often used as a reason for terrorist actions and by organizations to mobilize their adherents. He doesn't recognize that denying this prevents us from effectively dealing with it.

I tend to agree with you here. Trump's bromance with Putin and other dictatorial thugs is unseemly at best. Definitely worrisome. At worst he is endangering our security. As you said he is protecting himself.

Yet he sined the sanctions and sent missiles into Syria.

Combative Trump Pulls His Punches for One Man: Putin
    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/11/...rump-pulls-his-punches-for-one-man-putin.html

The roster of villains in President Trump’s world is legion. The list of people he has been willing, even eager, to publicly attack includes not just Mitch McConnell, his latest target, but Jeff Sessions, Chuck Schumer, Paul Ryan, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

And don’t forget James Comey, Robert Mueller, Andrew McCabe, Rod Rosenstein, John Podesta, Nancy Pelosi, Lisa Murkowski, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rosie O’Donnell, Meryl Streep, the mayor of London and the cast of “Saturday Night Live.”

The countries he has assailed include not just North Korea and Iran but also Germany, England, France, Australia, Canada, Mexico, China and Sweden.

But for all of that feistiness, for all of those verbal and online fisticuffs, there is one person who is definitely not on Mr. Trump’s target list: President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. Ever since Mr. Trump jumped into political life, Washington has scratched its collective head over his curious affinity for the strongman of the Kremlin.

The president’s determination to avoid saying anything even remotely critical of Mr. Putin was brought home in stark relief on Thursday when he twisted himself into a knot over a question about the Russian leader’s decision to order the United States Embassy to slash its staff by more than half. Rather than complain, Mr. Trump expressed gratitude.

“I want to thank him because we’re trying to cut down on payroll, and as far as I’m concerned, I’m very thankful that he let go of a large number of people because now we have a smaller payroll. There’s no real reason for them to go back. So I greatly appreciate the fact that they’ve been able to cut our payroll for the United States. We’ll save a lot of money.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said Mr. Trump meant his comment to be funny. “He was being sarcastic,” she said. But she did not explain why Mr. Trump remained so reluctant to utter a word of criticism against Mr. Putin.

Mr. Trump has expressed repeated praise for Mr. Putin, calling him “so nice” and a “strong leader” who was doing an “amazing job.” When interviewers asked him about the killing of so many opposition leaders and journalists, Mr. Trump has brushed it off by saying even the United States has engaged in killing.

 maybe Putin has dirt on Trump, blackmail, Donald's afraid to criticize him.

He signed the sanctions bill because he had no choice. It passed both houses with veto proof majorities. He has taken some positive steps like the one in Syria but they are few and far between his denial of Putin's acts or threat.

It would be one thing if Trump didn't criticize everyone else. That's kind of his thing.

Yea and it's always via Twitter. The Secret Service needs to take his phone away from him.

Whats wrong with these guys Pride? Obama and Hilary cut sweet deals with Puttie and let him get away with all kinds of mischief. Hillary made tons of money with Russia and made a shady deal with Russia for uranium. All this and these guys are jumping on Trump for ties to Russia and Puttie with no proof after a year of looking into. They are either delusional or just hate this man because they are leftist.
