Name this mystical coach who will recruit Top 10 classes every year, win more than Les Miles and is dying to coach at a place where an .800 winning pct doesn't satisfy the fans.

The thing about that - in the past, his timing was impeccable like the fake FG against SC and the HB pass against AU. But last night, he was doing them just to them. And it showed.

I actually liked the onside kick call. And I don't have a big problem with the Warecat. Spencer Ware, behind the full force of the OL, should be expected to fall forward for a yard.

The fake FG - that was just retarded.

I didn't mind the onside kick either. We would have gotten it, if not for a weird bounce. It didn't hurt us either, if I recall because isn't that the drive where they fumbled inside the 10? Oh well..

The part where 10 Alabama defenders jammed the hole Ware was headed to BEFORE the snap, was a little hard for me to get over, a slight wink at Ford and a suttle little pitch would have ended the game on the same play.

I'll give you everything except for "ending the game." I think there were 8m left at that point.

We would have scored, either on that play or shortly after, Alabama's defense had the "hands on the hips"...........thus we would have "ended it".

    From ESPN:
But LSU couldn't overcome the nation's top-ranked team and some dubious calls by coach Les Miles.
The Mad Hatter kept reaching into his bag of tricks -- and kept getting burned. A fake field goal was stuffed. An onside kick didn't work. And going for it on fourth down in Alabama territory didn't work out either.
"I wish I had a couple of my calls back," Miles said. "That's the way it goes."

Onside kicks - especially under the new rules - are very rarely recovered. The team and the stadium were juiced after the TD drive, so it's not like we needed a jump start. Pinning them deep would have been the better way to go with the D playing like they were. Field position is too important to risk giving up. And honestly, no, it didn't hurt us, but it very well could have. We were lucky to force the fumble, because Bama was going for points. Who knows what kind of turn the game could have taken if Bama scores right there? Not a good call.
