Be careful what you wish for, right? While I agree that calling ballsy plays may be exactly what you need when your back is against the wall, when your team is playing lights out, you just sit back and let them play. How much do we win that game by if we just play them straight up and let the momentum build, instead of killing it at every turn?

I'm still a fan of Les as a whole, but it'll take me a while to get over this one.

BTW, do we get to claim we beat ourselves, and that we're still the better team? Did we "unwin" last night? LOL

We win by 10-14. What should have been.

Similar talent. Better gameplan. Better execution. Better qb play--go figure.

    Bad bad game management.

Gtfo of the way. I was saying that early early in the game. That's why this hurts worse than the 21-0.

Oh well it's who we are. It's just hard to stomach sometimes.

Im one thats been calling for him to find his Lesticles. Id have went for the FG at that time rather than the 4th down attempt. I felt at that time pts were better. However I dont mind the gutsy call. I didnt like the play call though, but still Im fine with it. I rather play to win. I also wouldnt have went for the onside kick but again, I dont mind it. We lucked out with the fumble because Bama was moving the ball with ease at that time.

Now my issues are with the fake FG. Its freakin 4th and 12. You dont run a damn kicker at that time, just kick the FG or punt the damn ball. He coaches ballsy for most of the game but then in the crucial moment at the end of the game he gets super conservative again. LSU was throwing well, play to win. Not for a FG.

I've also been saying I want the Mad Hatter, and I still do. I actually think though the better fake would have been on the 4th and 4, and try to kick the 47 yarder on 4th and 12. Or just punt there. I actually thought the onsides kick was brilliant and had it gone half a more yard would have completely taken the life out of Bama.

Looking back at the Warecat, while I initially was okay with it, I'm a little disappointed that Mett wasn't given the chance to do more. The kid earned it this game. Any of our backs could have jumped over that line for a yard. I also want that 3rd and 10 to be a pass play, even if conventional wisdom says playing for a fg and keeping the clock moving is the best.

I hate the prevent D, always have, always will. Our defense is dominate, TRUST THEM.

sold four on the fifty for this game. watching on tv, I thought "I might have seen history" as far as LSU lore goes. At the end, I was glad to be in my recliner and ready for bed. We can pick these decisions apart for ever. NONE of us are SEC quality intellects. NONE of us have the pressure of "if I screw up, I could lose millions a year." Yes...I thought there were some stupid calls.....fake field goal and EVERY Bama player is watching for it.......call time out and punt. They were so prepared for that....you could see it. Someone should have seen this.

If we'd played straight-up, I think we'd have won. It almost like Les was reading the forums the past two weeks and was trying to appease the fanbase. But it bit him in the ass.

To be honest I thought we would have needed to see the "Mad Hatter" in this game. However after the way LSU was playing it was clear we didnt need it. I think there are times and places. I dont mind going for it on fourth despite near sure points. If you cant get one yard then something wrong. The onside, fake FG, etc were mistakes. Again, I dont mind the onside but Id have kicked off at that time.

I like some of the chance taking. It shows confidence in the team and excites the players to succeed. That being said there were questionable calls.

I think the fake was a mistake as was the 54 yd attempt. Allemon has not been strong this year and Les cannot depend on him. We should have punted both times. I liked the onside at the time and still do. It was a gutsy play and frankly showed confidence in his D. Players like that.
Two other series I didn't like the end of were the two calls before the missed FG at the end of the first half. See above Allemon is not dependable right now so we should have run it twice if nothing else. The other series was the Warecat 4th down. I liked the thought of going for it but it should have been a pitch to Ford as bama was stacked against the inside.

The prevent D at the end of halves were the worst though. Not only did it give up the outside to bama's receivers but took the edge off the D. It gave Bama the game no doubt about it.

That being said I credit Les and his staff for the preparation of the gameplan and the adjustments made by both the O & D at half time. I credit the team for taking the plan to heart and playing their ases off. I hope they realize that the game shows what they can accomplish and gives them the resolve to continue to play like they did. Dissapointed? yes down? a little but I am encouraged that this is can be a watershed for the team and they become a ruthless winning machine.

Stupidity disguised as guts. One day LSU will have a coaching staff that the players do not have to overcome.

Keep dreaming if you think we can do much better. This is the golden age of LSU football, and it won't last forever.
