Absolutely correct. We don't play him because we aren't doing well enough to play him. That is beyond stupid. Just maybe we would be doing well enough BECAUSE of him. Interesting concept huh? I don't think Miles/Crowton have a clue what to do with him. But if that is the case then why in hell did they recruit him? Why not just recruit another 225 lb road grader? I'd really like to see some of the balls less news media press him on this and when he starts this wanting crap but the situation wasn't right press him on what exactly is the right situation. Don't let him off the hook with the Miles double talk but be specific and in plain English. Won't happen though.
This wouldn't be the 1st time that he hasn't mentioned the same kind of rules violations by his players. But it still could be a rumor. Also according to the participation report, Shepard played. Penn State vs LSU (Jan 01, 2010)
Possibly, but he was asked multiple times specifically about Shep and made no mention of it. Then again, it is a Les Miles interview statement, so take it for what it's worth.
There is no ryhme or reason with Les Miles when it comes to situations like this. Y'all can think of 10,000 different reasons why RS might not have played. You can then convince yourself that reason X might have been what Miles, Crowton and co. had in mind and that it makes sense. But in the end, they just didn't play him. It basically happened all year. At least we know Shep. has been working on his dance moves though from the glimpse of him that we got on the sideline during the game.
