I think its kinda stupid to suspend the guy for 5 more games, he has been to jail, lost all his money, what else do you want from the guy. If thats the case dont let him practice or play in the last 2 pre season games. I guess Im not getting it. If someone could help me out with the logic of the extra suspension.

I think Goodell is basically sabotaging this season for Vick by putting that 6 game suspension in place. Based on all the scuttlebutt on NFL radio some owners wanted to show the NFL has some heart by allowing Vick back in while others wanted Vick suspended for another year. This is Goodell's way of satisfying both sides of the argument but making it almost impossible for Vick to be a factor with anyone this year.

It will be interesting seeing who tries to sign him. It will be a PR nightmare no matter what.

Definitely will be a PR nightmare, but thanks for clearing the logic up for me. That makes alot of sense. Why would some owners want him gone for another year. I guess I have more questions lol.

I've been traveling a lot and listening to NFL radio on Sirius so everything I am hearing is from there.

Seems like the owners who wanted Vick gone another year actually dont want him back in the league at all. The thinking was another year off would surely add enough rust to kill his career completely. There is a large contingent of owners who dont ever want the NFL dealing with Vicks PR problems.

Then there is another segment of owners who want to start showing a bit of compassion for troubled players. When Goodell was hired his marching orders where to clean up the leagues image and he has done that with a ruthless unforgiving authority. Maybe some owners are changing their mind a little.

Its still going to be tough for Vick to come back. When he finally gets a chance to play full time with a team he would have missed almost three seasons. Cant see him being a number 1 QB anywhere with that kind of layoff but who knows. Maybe all of a sudden he will be able to hit short and medium passes for a change.

maybe to see if he can keep his nose clean. if i offended anyone by disliking this guy so much, i used to own 2 pits, and they were the most loving dogs i have ever had. They couldn't hurt a flea. And if you saw the pictures of those dogs, or the rape racks, they way they cut the teeth out of the dogs so they couldn't defend themselves when getting raped, i really don't see how any human could do that to any animal. Isn't the torturing and killing of defenseless animals the first sign of a serial killer? Anyway, i only watch the National Felony League because of fantasy football, but i do follow the saints and cowboys, if he ends up playing for either of those 2 teams, i won't follow them anymore, not that they care.

id guess to keep vick from stealing the thunder from the rest of the league. goodell knows no one will be talking about the opener or anything else besides vick if hes playing week 1.

this way, its more about peyton manning and tom brady than a dog killer.

he'll still be the story week 6 or whenever but the NFL will be rolling along by then.

There is no logic. Goodell is like a politician trying to please everybody when he should be a leader and do what he thinks is best for the league.

My opinion? He's been punished. There's no need to treat him differently than any other player.

I'm not defending what Vick did, but I really don't think an animal thinks of it as rape.
