Right now we can't pick and choose. Fwiw Perriloux did fantastic after he left LSU.. eh really grew up a bunch.
Even good kids use fake IDs to get into bars underage to drink, its not like we would be stooping to Ole Miss levels by taking a convicted burglar among other things in Masoli. And if he lied to coaches about it, what would you expect, he's 18 and didn't want to lose everything that he had, it was immaturity, Theres only one way to find out if he's learned and matured from the incidents and thats to give him a shot, its not like we would be pinning the future on him, Jefferson, Lee, Rivers, Bailey, and hopefully Ely would be around before this guy could even take a snap. Seems like a low risk get to me, he would probably be thankful for another oppurtunity and would probably he hungry to compete and would be humbled by the situation he's gone through, hopefully that is because if not then he's a piece of **** and needs to go to Valdosta State or somewhere, but I bet that would be clear in the first 5 minutes in a meeting with Les.
Good points Also remember there has been some issues between the local police and UGA players this offseason and beyond and it was and still is out of hand. One too many incidents with the team and he lied about the situation and he was released. Usually a player would not be released for misdemeanors.
"Well, one thing we know for sure about Zach Mettenberger: He won’t be transferring to Valdosta State, as some had speculated, since he’s banished from the town that calls itself Winnersville." LOL, never mind, I threw Valdosta State out there cause I knew it was a ****ty school in Georgia but it appears its the only school other than UGA that he won't be going to :hihi:
JUCO team in Kansas welcomes Mettenberger 10:59 am August 4, 2010, by Tim Tucker Former Georgia quarterback Zach Mettenberger has a new team: the Butler Community College Grizzlies, a perennial power in junior-college football. Butler is located in El Dorado, Kansas. The Wichita Eagle reports that Mettenberger is on the Butler roster and quotes coach Troy Morrell fromJayhawk Conference Media Day: “We did our research on Zach. We feel like he can be a great asset to our team, and it’s widely known that he paid the price for what he’s done and he’s trying to move on.” Mettenberger was dismissed from the Georgia program in April, shortly before pleading guilty to two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery in Valdosta. He was sentenced to 12 months probation, 80 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine. Butler is ranked No. 6 among the nation’s junior-college football teams in the preseason poll. The Grizzlies have won five JUCO national championships since 1998, including titles in 2007 and 2008. Butler starts practice Thursday and plays its season opener Aug. 26 at home against Navarro College. Mettenberger, from Oconee County, was redshirted at Georgia as a freshman last season JUCO team in Kansas welcomes Mettenberger | UGA sports blog
I would send a secret envoy to Texas/Michigan to see if Forcier would be interested in transferring. Robinson seems to be winning the QB battle for RR. If the NCAA hits Michigan maybe we could get them both. Oops, too late. Michigan backup QB Forcier transfers
