I'm not wearing a stupid fucking mask! If you "have" to wear one to get in I bet the gramps leading to the different levels will be covered with them. This is just dumb. Now go get your wool sheared before the heat kills you
Masks are a true bit of insanity. Nothing more than virtue signaling or wearing a "talisman" to ward off the Bogeyman. Fact: The average pore size of a typical blue surgical mask is 3 microns; the average COVID-19 viral particle is 0.125 microns. Meaning, the pores in your blue mask are 24X bigger than a COVID-19 virus. Therefore, there is virtually ZERO filtration of virus' on both inhalation and exhalation through a mask. Twenty-four viruses could hold hands as a group and get sucked into your mouth with every breath. Admittedly, were someone sick with COVID-19* to cough/sneeze while wearing a mask, the mask would reduce the wet "droplet" aerosolization of material, and the obverse is also true: your mask can filter some of those virus-laden "droplets" before you can inhale them. But the masks must fit well and then, at home, you must remove and discard them so carefully so as to not contaminate yourself with the now concentrated (but invisible) gunk that's enmeshed within your masks. And not fidget with the damn things while wearing them! *But why would someone very ill with COVID-19 be running about? That dumbass should be home, getting better.
@gynojunkie you make fair points. One question i have is how much of the virus is for want of a better term floating free in the air versus expelled via sputum? What I read is that most transmission is through asymptomatic carriers. Do the expel pure virus or is it contained in saliva etcetera? I have asked a broad range of doctors from ER docs to a blood bank doc participating in the convalescent plasma study. While there’s not unanimous opinion most recommend wearing a mask in enclosed spaces like stores restaurants or the like.
