Sad thing is, if your man crush could find a way to pull his hands out of the offense we would not have to have this discussion. I told you this was about x's and o's and not about jimmy's and joes's and what do you know? Your boy got outshined!!!!
Agree. The players played hard, and executed. This loss falls on the coaching. Going for a fake on 4th and 10, instead of taking the points early in the game; going for it on 4th on 2, instead of kicking a FG; calling a prevent D, then not being ready on O w/:51 sec. left, appearing shocked, and not putting up any fight at that point - all on the coaches. Coaches did some good things, too: good offensive gameplan, good adjustments by the D in the second half until that 2min. collapse.
i remember bobby knight once saying that, during a tournament game against lsu and dale brown in which indiana was losing, that he looked over at the coach and thought, "i was worried about losing until i looked down the floor and saw dale brown. then i knew we had a chance." i wonder whether the same holds true with saban and miles? i have to believe that if saban was coaching the lsu players last night and miles would have been coaching the bama players, that saban would have won then, too. yea , i know, why didn't you just say saban's a better game coach. failed trick plays and gambles like a fake field goal on 4th and 12 or going conservative at the end of the game when you have a hot quarterback and need a first down, didn't do us any good. i am so glad to see mett's arrival. our young men played great. damn shame though because we may actually be the best team in the country right now.
Tirk really called you out on your love for Les. I don't recall in which thread the comment appeared. He hit hard though. We should know that "only [he] can get away with that shit", or so he says.
Bama will get their comeuppance soon enough and i'm going to enjoy it thoroughly. Bama will have to get through K-State or Oregon to repeat... won't happen.
