I sort of wonder what kind of bright young OC we could get to come here. After Saturday's fiasco Miles may very well be on the hot seat for next year. If that is the case would one of these rising stars want to come here with the possibility that he may only be here for 1 year? Because if we stink it up next year and we dump Miles then probably his whole staff will be gone as well. I'm sure whoever else they brought in would want to surround himself with his own people.

never underestimate an OC trying to make a name for himself and the fact that he will be paid well here.

First off, even with the right hire... it'll take prolly the 2nd season under the new OC to see any real improvement, although we should see a little something right away... but if it comes to it, LSU will have absolutely no problems looking for a new OC.

i also think most OC's will tailor their offense to their personnel something crowton has a little bit of a problem with.

We won a NC in Crowton's 1st year. Our defense was good enough this year with a first-year DC (if our offense had a pulse.)

Oh, wait. The '07 NC was garbage and a farce. I forgot...

Yeah but we had deep deep leadership here, and a real OC before him that had coached these kids... not taking away anything from Miles at all... but GC couldn't do anything but succeed with our 07 team, but he almost found a way losing to Arky and UK.
Like I said sometime last night, a good buddy of mine from Oregon loved GC as well, for a season... then he started going downhill there... same as BYU before there, and a friend who played at BYU then said the same thing as my oregon buddy... beware of gc after his 1st season... he'll bring you a ton of enjyment that 1st season... but more heartache as he stays longer. Pretty accurate imo, seeing as how our offensive production has gone down every year since he arrived.

I bet it filled you with the warm fuzzies that your boss thought you were not as smart as him!

People on this site, going back years, have been saying Miles needs someone on the sidelines to manage the clock for him. He is the worst I have ever seen at that aspect of coaching, in a class by himself. He does a lot of things well, but his clock management is embarrassing and is reason #1 why so many LSU fans have have been unable to find faith in his leadership.

Yes, I agree. In another thread, I mentioned what Oregon and BYU fans warned.
