    Dandy has gone south!!!

I believe that Gary Crowton will be replaced for the good of the program and to settle down unhappy Tiger fans, but that is only my speculation. If this is the case, I would like to see Les Miles hire a bright, young offensive coordinator with head coaching potential and place him on the sideline next to him to help make game decisions (such as calling timeouts) and help with play calling, much like Bobby Bowden's (FSU) hiring of Jimbo Fisher and Mack Brown's (Texas) hiring of Will Muschamp

That won't happen. As a boss once advised me, 'never hire a man smarter than you are, he might take your job.'

It wouldn't surprise me one bit for Miles to make a hire like this. I don't think his ego is so big that he can't stand to have a star coordinator. Besides, if he does, he'll save his job.

Mack Brown has done this repeatedly, for instance. And look where he's headed this season.

I agree with your logic. After all, Miles is a self-preservationist. He should definitely follow Mack's lead on this one.

Right about Mack Brown. He's not a very good Xs & Os guy, and he's not shy about hiring new coordinators, tainting the ousted ones with the failures, never himself. He, like Miles, is a very good recruiter. As you know by living in TX, Brown pretty much wraps up the talent here well before signing day and watches the others fight over the scraps. He has a very easy job for a major college head coach. What Mack Brown is that Les Miles isn't, is very smooth, almost Bill Clinton slick.

CLM has no choice but to do this now. If not on his own, then the AD and school administration will force his hand. Ego or not, the same crap can't continue and he has at least enough smarts to realize this (BTW, I have always liked CLM and will continue to support him as long as he's our coach)...

miles has a history - for the most part - of hiring very good assistants. other than the malveto fiasco, which he corrected. and now what is looking like crowton, which everyone thought was a great hire at first.

i think that he will change oc's and make a good hire. some of us have thought for weeks this will happen, even before saturdays disaster.

Yes, we were all praising the Crowton hire, and I remember that the BYU and Oregon fans told us we'd love him...and then we wouldn't. Hmmm. It's happened just that way.

I wonder if the Bama fans are taking note of that sort of scenario?

    yeah that.

let's be honest, we all knew miles wasn't an x's and o's guy. there are guys like bobby bowden and mack brown that play the ceo role well. les is cut from that cloth.

he's a good recruiter, a good face of the program, and for the most part hires well which is a must for him.

i'm still not sold on chavis just yet (i think he may develop players well i just don't always like his philosphy and scheme), loved crowton when he first got here and i have turned on him since last year.

our coordinators do not compliment each other well, a bend and don't break DC coupled with a quick strike/no strike OC. it's killing our players(mainly the D) they're dead in the 4th and it has little to do with moffit (that's where you can tell people that really know football, people that blame moffitt are clueless).

it's not hard to hire an OC and basically let them do their thing. even game management.

heck i don't necessarily want miles removed from game management all together but inside 3:00 of both halves he should turn it over to someone else. seriously.
