What's wrong with giving a senior the 1st 4 carries OF HIS CAREER during the homecoming game when we're up by 48 freaking points. Oh and by the way, Jordan averaged more yards per on his 4 attempts than KW did in his 4 attempts.
Didn't mean to slight Jordan in making my point. He has been a solid FB and a valuable asset to the team. Carry on. Get it, "carry"?
I don't think any carries should be taken from Hester. I think some PASSES should be taken away from Flynn...and some carries taken away from Perriloux. I like KW, but it's hard to say just give HIM those carries...when Charles Scott has played very well, too. I fear that this is a discussion we'll be having for a while now. Next year, you can throw Murphy into the discussion with KW and Scott. Trindon is gonna get his carries, too. Say what you will about KW...but he proved himself last year...and has done so again this year...in very limited action. I think it may have something to do with the offense not yet being a well oiled machine...therefore sticking to the known quantity of Hester to be safe. At least none of you have talked about how Hester never fumbles. Drives me nuts when people use that one in this discussion...as none of the other RB's have ever lost a fumble. Bottom line...it's a problem that every other team in the country wishes they had...so much talent, and only one ball. Do you think there's anyone that questions Nutt's decision to give McFadden more carries than Felix Jones??
I dont see any legit reason stated as to why Williams doesnt get more touches. He is clearly the big play back on the team. The carries should be split between Hester and Williams with some back up time for Scott. Williams proved himself last year and this year. Its just the coaches have a love affair with the toughness of Hester. I cant blame them, he is the kind of guy you want on your team. Still in all I agree that many of the games SHOULDNT have been as close as they were had the right players been in the game. Miles record speaks for itself, the man has done a great job. Still, I question a lot of his decisions this year. Of his tenure here this is by far his worse coaching job IMO.
I know and appreciate what he has done. I recognize the impressive record he has amassed in a short time. Fact is though, the coaching has been questionable this season. There is no excuse for the play of the OL and the penalties. The D hasnt made the proper adjustments. There are also personel questions. Its easy to see why I can question the coaching for the season, yet still praise his overall record. I aso understand its not easy to nitpick when a team has just one loss with the schedule we have played.
This is the biggest declaration of this thread. Red called you "Ace." For future reference, his preferred term is "Amigo" so this is kind of a big moment in TigerForums history. Nice job Amigo. :hihi: No problem my man. This is a great resource for the interested fan. It's an even better place for the opinionated fan that agrees with NoLimitMD. Istsslstl hits on a good point that not many folks want to discuss. Miles DOES have a tendency to overuse Hester and ignore the other talent. Look no further than Kentucky, when Scott was killing them in the first half and didn't touch the ball again til either late 4Q or OT (I think it was OT.)
