This is correct. It was an anomaly that we beat UGA twice in '03. It almost always goes in favor of the team that lost the first evenly-matched contest (I think that's key, the evenly-matched part.)
That 2003 game after all uga could say was the better team didn't win, uga kept running their mouths. My Brother-in-Law called me an asked what I thought about the game, they live in ga. Word I got from Jimbo, the kids would run through a wall to beat them again. My B-in-Law bet a bunch of cash on the game and was a verry happy guy in ga.
Wow....Ga. scored 44..LSU only 41....OBJ muffed a punt. How often will that happen? If Ga. allows 41..........why are you ashamed of the LSU defense? Ga.'s didn't seem much better.
I consider Saturday a win in a way. We wondered if our offense was the real deal. Turns out they are. We lost a battle but we are still in the fight. Our team has officially been tested. We all new Georgia was going to be tough. I even felt that game would define our team. Offense went score for score. Defense struggled against one of the best if not the best offenses in the SEC. Chavis and Les will work on that. Stud will tighten up the line and Cam will make the offense even better. And you can bet Zach wants a rematch. Florida will test our offense. Ole Miss & A&M will test our defense. Alabama will test one or the other but not both. Georgia is the only one able to test both and we lost by 3. I know we can beat every one of them. I know I may be pumping sunshine. But it's feeling good.
I agree completely. A lot of folks are focused on the details of how the defense performed against a top offense in UGA - a lot of armchair DCs here. Personally, I expected that game to be a shootout w/both teams scoring in the 40s. That's exactly what happened. For that to happen, it means by definition that LBs are making a lot of tackles and seem out of position, and DBs are getting burned and seem confused. It's the 4th game of a long season in which ups and downs are expected. Sometimes you need your ass handed to you to grow and improve. CLM and Chief will get this straightened out. We won't be as great as recent years, but much better than we saw this past Saturday. Just give them some time and have some faith.
