I can't. My point is a good QB and adequate receivers will take advantage of the weaknesses in the defense. I can't recall a stretch of games like this where the LSU secondary looks so clueless.
Your question helps bring great perspective into the conversation. There have definitely been positive changes put into place this year. These changes are still reminiscent in scale to what we've experienced with new offensive coordinators in the past. Cam Cameron is obviously an extremely capable coordinator. To me the real question may be, can Cam Cameron's abilities as a coordinator ever possibly overcome Les Miles' glaring horns? I'm not saying that Cam should be compared to past changes at offensive coordinator. It's great to see that our quarterback actually seems to enjoy playing the game this year. Whereas last year it seemed like he alienated himself, all while never really enjoying the game.
LSU is in control of it's own destiny. Every single goal is still attainable. Run the table, and you'll meet UGA again in Atlanta, then end up in Pasadena.
Murray, Manziel and Mettenberger are numbers 4, 5, and 6 nationally in pass efficiency. McCarron is number 42. Davis isn't even ranked. They will have issues in a shootout like we saw Last Saturday.
The win over USCe was a huge win. I was very impressed with how well the OL played. They won the battle of the trenches. We established the run. Whatever the coaches did before that game they need to do that again. I think this OL is very talented, just undisciplined.
If I remember correctly, history has shown- more than not- that the team winning the first game also won the second. I remember Nootch posting something about this. I know Tennessee beat us one year then we beat them in the SECCG rematch. Any others?
I'd have to look. But honestly I always hear it put the other way; i.e. "It's hard(er) to beat a team twice in one season".. They were saying that left and right when we beat GA in 2003 for the regular season, then had to play them again in the SECCG... We of course proved them wrong, but I remember them saying that a lot leading up to the game right along with all the random blathering about Polack's motor... I don't know how it has actually worked out over the years though.
