So first off, I am not that upset about yesterday. I predicted 3-4 losses this year with one being UGA. Losing so much on D and having to go to UGA from the east along with our brutal schedule that the SEC saddled us with (as opposed to others) I felt a loss to UGA was very possible.
None the less I think our team played great, I wont rehash all the defense stuff being said today. I agree there are enough threads on it.

So on to my question. I got to thinking last night, we seem lately to be on the losing end of several of our last "big games" either the game of the week, where Gameday is there and everyone is talking about the game, a big Bowl game or the "showdown last year" or any game where the nation is watching. I had more people come from out of the woodwork yesterday emailing me about "The Game" this week.

You could argue A&M but that was a secondary game at the time as it was before the "legend" of Johnny football.
I mean a game where we are the underdogs, Bowl game, Gameday game or a big 2:30 national game.

Is it me or does it seem the last "big game" we won was Bama 9-6 in the game of the century.
Since we have lost two Bowl games (one for a NC) the other to a team that was playing their superbowl. Lost yesterday to UGA in the gameday event, lost last year to Bama at night that was the game of the year, etc...

Not pouting we have a great thing going on just wondering if I am overthinking it.

IMO, not since the 2011 season.

But the season is young and our offense titanic. I'm calling a win @ Bama.

A&M went on to beat Alabama and ran the table to finish high in the top 10 rankings at the end of the year

Of course, that wasn't a BIG win. We held that fucker to 19 points, at College Station. It put us in position to try to beat Bama and win the West and the NC ultimately.

    Fair enough. Islstl is correct.
Again I am very happy with LSU football I am not one of "Fire Miles" and "if we lost a game we are horrible"
I have always said look at Texas or OU, or USC. LSU has maintained for the most part double digit wins for almost 10 years and has one of the highest winning percentages in college football in the last 10. I realize the other teams also recruit, and pack stadiums, and play football. We will lose from time to time.
Just seems recently when our game is the marquee game of the week and its getting all the press we lost.

That's ok. A bit bummed we finally get the offense we all have been waiting for and then our defense becomes the liability. Who wudda thunk it.

Still big opportunities ahead. Love watching this LSU team though, win or lose its good to see a great offense that clicks.

    You can't win them all.

The other team is trying just as hard as you are, and they recruit and coach just as hard as you do (i.e., Georgia Bulldogs in this case).

We have had a great record under Les Miles in close and tight ball games (I think it's close to 70 % winning percentage).

Just looked it up, 31-13 coming into this season in games decided by 8 points or less.

    70.4 % winning pct

what did you see on defense that makes you believe we can beat Bama or A&M, Georgia receivers are shit, Bama are not A&M receivers are studs, whos going to cover those guys? Yea we can score all day, but one screw up, like a muffed punt and the game is done.
