Look for the relative positioning of LSU to Vtech.

    LSU needs to be ahead.

By some 15 points in coaches and 30 points in Harris, although that would cause a tie in the BCS for #2 essentially.

Just to give you guys a frame of reference.

Any more points, and hopefully it will be much more of a gap than that, LSU is in at #2 in the BCS.

Will they release the human polls ahead of the BCS selection show?

I can't remember if they do. Anyone remember?

I thought they held the coaches and harris poll last year until they announced the pairings.

    That's my guess.

And almost all the computer polls hold out as well.

    Crap.

They have to. You would upstage them and ruin the ratings for the selection show.

Only NINE HOURS TO GO. Jeez, this is going to be a tense day. Hopefully the voters have their heads screwed on straight.

There is NO way we don't jump Vtech by a big margin. We both won our conference, however, they defeated a fallin Boston College team who they had already played and lost to. LSU defeated a hot Tennessee team who we hadn't played all year, and with our backup QB. That should sway a couple of voters.. and then the big daddy... 48-7 head-to-head match up and that will boost LSU way past VT in the human polls.

My gut feeling is still the same.

The only change from my initial projection is Oklahoma being possibly stronger than anticipated. For some reason I have just the slightest of uneasy feelings about a wave from OU. I don't think it will be nearly enough, but the voters could put them in if they wanted to.

I still think the Harris will save us. If we end up #2 in the Harris, we are gold.

OU is making a late charge. Their romp over a #1 is the reason. I wish the game had been close now, just to be safe.

    LSU vs. Ohio State

    Nothing changes.

I'm no BCS guru, but we have several things, IMO, going for us ...

    1) SEC Champs
    2) Both loses in Triple OT
    3) We beat Va Tech by 41
    4) We've had a LOT of big time TV time this year
    5) We have beaten 8 bowl eligible teams....8!!!
    6) A lot of analysts are calling for us to be #2
    7) We beat UT w/ "a back-up QB", and a "50% G Dorsey"
    8) We beat UT with all that chaos going on around

There are 2 things that I can see, against us...

    1) Our second loss came just 2 weeks ago
    2) Because of injuries, and distractions, We haven't played our best ball in the last 4-6 weeks, unlike some of the other "candidates"
