With Brady Hoke clearly on the hot seat at Meeeeechigaaaan and barring an incredible turn of events could be fired at seasons end, does this open the door for the Les Miles to Michigan conversation?

Miles clearly has been under appreciated at LSU. He still has his detractors. Which is amazing considering his success. Any given day his approval rating could be plus or minus 50% by Tiger fans.

Does Miles grow weary of putting up absolutely incredible numbers at LSU only to be continually living in the shadows of his predecessor? Kind of like the kid who averages 95% on his test only to be asked by his parents why he didn't get 100%. Does Michigan finally bring home one of their own after letting Lloyd Carr dictate passing on Miles the first two times? Is the 3rd time a charm for Miles?

The truth is as long as Saban is at Alabama and winning, Miles will be compared and generally unfavorably. The only way he may truly feel appreciated is to return "home".

All interesting thoughts as we venture into the 2014 season.

I say no, if I had a job at a powerhouse with a mainline to recruits in the greatest division of the greatest conference with my best friend as my OC, why would I leave.

Now....Cam Cameron on the other hand.....why wouldn't Michigan reach out to him?

I bet Cam doesn't have a Michigan buyout either.

Les has passed on two chances to return to Michigan already. As much as he loves his alma mater, LSU is who has buttered his bread and Les knows it. Replaying Bo Schembechler ain't shit compared to creating his own high-profile program on par with Schembechler and with McClendon, Saban, and Dietzel, too. I think Les wants more legacy here. He can always retire to Michigan and become a fat-cat alumni.

If you are driving a Ferrari, would you give it up to drive an Edsel? LSU is a well oiled machine. As long as Miles is at LSU he will be considered one of the top coaches in college football. Can you imagine what would be said about Miles if he went to Michigan and they didn't improve, or even got worse? It would just be validation of Miles' detractors that say most of LSU's success belongs to Saban.

Oh my, this could go on another five years or more... Miles continues at LSU and Saban at Alabama, both having the same success. Will we still be posting the same stuff comparing the two coaches? Will the ban on LSU fan posts be lifted at Tidefans?

We don't approve of rhetorical questions on Friday. It confuses the lurking rolltards.

Idk why anytime this is brought up "little napoleon" gets drug into the conversation. Are they not unrelated? I don't see the link between clm and his Alma mater and the unhappy little bastard to the east? Nothing at all to do with each other.

I do think the OP has a valid question however.

Saban's alma mater is Kent State. Even if he wanted to go there they couldn't afford to pay him
