I just don't see that defense being a bottom feeder defense. I think they have a top 4 SEC D. They are fast and strong and have guys that will play on Sunday, unfortunately they have no Offense. I think that Defense will probably be the best defense FSU sees all year.
That changes every season. It wasn't that long ago fans wanted to clean house. Richt could coach Gawga for another 50 years and they won't win one single NC.
I would love to see Mush keep his job. Mediocrity with a Florida team helps us. I only wish shula would have stayed in gumpland longer.
Having just returned to So Cal from J'ville.....Florida has a very good defense. #6 is a monster and a dirty sumbitch. Richt does seem to manage 2 stupid losses a season. Sakerlina becoming an annual thing now. Bye weeks can be hell or hella payoff. The Dawgs did not come prepared and that is on Richt. Bobo called a lousy game. They rarely stretched the field and WR's failed to make some key catches. I think Gurley's absence was key. Chubb still hit 156 yards rushing and 60 receiving. Leadership may have been all he lacked. Any 5th year QB who follows a strong QB, is probably always going to be mediocre. Mason has no touch. I hate Pac 12 officiating but damn....SEC officials really seem to get way too involved in outcomes. I watch a lot of SEC games and so many times I see calls coming at key moments or in favor of certain teams. If you look at the pivotal point of momentum from this game, it was the fake field goal but right in front of the ref, #5 is held for over 5 yards and Florida gets the TD. I kept waiting for the flag, lol.
Florida pulls a TE across the LOS and he doesn't engage that defensive back until the runner has already made his cut inside of that TE. He engages, but that isn't going to be called holding no matter what conference is playing—no advantage given to the runner. Watch the video again. This screen grab is a second before the initial contact and the DB is already way out of position to have any impact on the play.
Wait a minute here...it's always been things never get called and now it's too involved? Here's a screen shot from the last scoring drive AU had against the Black Bears. No flag. Yet...how many things do you see that should have been flagged?
