Because that was clearly so effective for us all season? The most obvious answer to this would be that Jefferson can run, while Lee looks like he has cement dried in his Nikes?
What a ridiculous statement. CLM is not finished because of one bad year. Yes, he needs to take some of the blame for this season. This team lacks discipline, and that is a coaching issue. His decision regarding the DC was not good, although there was no way to know that until the season had been well under way. Miles will be under a lot of pressure to make some coaching changes. If he does that he will go a long way toward soothing a lot of bad feelings. But to say his career at LSU is over because of one season is absurd.
you saw what happened when Lee threw the ball, right? anyway.. i give Alem a pass, as others have said, he is the only one on defense that actually looked like he gave a damn that we were sucking it up so bad this year. Johnson is a numbskull and that move was beyond idiotic, eye poking or not. but one bad season and a few knuckleheaded plays in a very frustrating game at the end of a very frustrating season does not a out-of-control program make. oh and.. remember 2002 when we went 8-5 and lost BADLY to auburn and alabama and then lost to arkansas at the last second? we won the MNC the next year
Forget a pass... that one play alone put them in FG territory... we can not afford with the mistakes we've had and the lack experience we've dealt with to "give" away anything... much less very good field position. It's one thing to have your D burned for yardage but to simply give it away on stupid immature penalties is uncalled for.
Dude, you are going on the negative rant again. In the end, you may be right, but certainly CLM can make some positive moves and right the ship. If he does not correct things after this season, and another season progresses like this one, then I will agree with you. Once again, Saban's teams were some of the most penalized and mistake-prone. They overcame them, and that was the difference. LSU lost a significant number of senior leadership, had QB problems, and certainly defensive leadership problems at the coaching level. The regular season is only 24 hours old, so give him a chance to rectify the problems you have just raised. If he does, you need to come back with your head between your ass and say "I was wrong, it was a blip in the radar, we had some ups and downs like every program experiences at some point. He is our coach." Okay? Otherwise, you are simply demonstrating that you can ridicule when things are down, and ride the bandwagon when things are good.
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Not just a little cement. Like a whole reenforced foundation... rebar and all. And maybe one shoe has more than the other which might explain why he could not throw straight. I think the whole "losing control of the team" thing is related to the "we have no leadership" discussed in another thread. No leadership on the field or sideline results in players who do stupid, self defeating things on the field. We've been a rudderless ship this year. We have great talent but you are not going to win without leadership.
Get off yourself. Who gives a damn how many posts he has or how many times you've posted. The points made were legitimate opinions, same as yours. The fact Miles did not select a DC when Bo P left should have sent up the red flags. That indecision showed a weakness which culminated in this season's debacle. Yesterday's game was simply a microcosm of how this season played out. If you want to be an apologist, so be it. But don't bust on someone else who has just as much of a legitimate point as you. It's nothing personal against Miles. When you are the HC of a major NCAA program criticism comes with the territory. We've heard the same rhetoric since the UF game and nothing has changed. Based on the comments he's made, the performance of this team and the completely idiotic penalties yesterday, there is nothing that leads me to believe Miles has a handle on his players. Now, if it turns out I'm wrong I'll be the first one to show up on this board and say I'm jacked up. You won't have to find me, I'll find you. Miles has been given the benefit of the doubt more often than not. But the simple fact remains players take their cue from the attitude of the HC, same as any organization.
TC I couldn't agree with you more. You do not see this type of decline from a Stoops, Saban, Carroll, Meyer coached team. You just don't. The problem the kool aid drinkers on this forum have is that they completely block out reality when it comes to CLM. Completely. I think we have to give CLM a chance in the off season to make things right. Get a new DC, continue to recruit and sign top athletes, and right this ship. Another 7-5 season next year and I think he will either be fired or given 1 last year to get it right. I'm not sure which way this thing goes.
