I don't think anyone can reasonably argue that CLM has not lost control of his team. From the penalties to the stupid celebrations to the talking smack on the field to the starting DBs unable to cover anybody 12 games into the season. These things define whether the head coach is truly in charge. Ever seen such a display from these guys' teams: Pete Carroll, Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer, Nick Saban? Nope. They've had some down years, but nothing like this. Saban couldn't control the prima donna players in the NFL, and he left immediately. He came back to college, got control, and was back to #1 before you could blink. I will always be a Tiger fan. But, folks, I have never seen a coach have a year like this and bounce back in championship fashion. CLM is for all intents and purposes done at LSU!.
Completely disagree .... IF CLM makes changes among the Defensive coaching staff, I think our Tigers could be much improved next season. There is a ton of talent in our program right now, and more on the way! This offseason- the focus needs to be improvement, and returning to championship form. I suspect this will be a very humbling and challenging offseason for everyone. Look for Miles and staff (hopefully new staff) to really put it on our players. We will be MUCH better in 2009. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I think its ridiculous to think Miles has lost control. :insane: He has allowed a bit of a "tude" to develop but that in no way indicates he has lost control. This team needed a lesson in humility and this season will be a blessing in disguise. The players should realize that all the talent in the world is not going to win games without discipline. Im hoping this season will be a lesson to all those highly recruited players.
I drove 14 hours to get to the game, they are out of control. Alem kicked the damm ball and was allowed to play again. After the game he was the only LSU player to meet and greet with the RazorBacks. That would have never happened with Saban. Miles has lostcontrol of his team.Wake up we lost to Arkansas, they sux, which means we suxxx
You're not done when the season is over. You're done when you quit. Only Les Miles will determine when he is done at LSU. In my mind, if Miles fails to make some big moves this off season then he could be showing signs of quitting. Right now, however, there is a world of opportunity sitting in front of him and the Tigers. They could very easily turn things around with the full complement of highly talented players. The most important thing that Miles can do is bring in a homerun hitter of a Defensive Coordinator. You need someone that is going to come in and install one defensive philosophy and put a beast of a team back on the field. Right now I have faith in Crowton especially once these young players get time under their belts. The defense, on the other hand, failed for more reasons than young players. I don't know who that DC is at this point but it needs to be a Muschamp or Pelini type. Not only for the needed inmpact to the play of the team but also our recruiting. If we are not careful, cracks could start to show in that recruiting wall that was built around the state. It's a simple pedigree that tends to be forgotten ... you have to control the line of scrimmage, you have to be able to run the ball and you have to play defense. Defense wins Championships!
I would like to hear from someone other than a 2 post pot stirrer that this actually happened. I seriously doubt it.
I'm pretty sure that Tre Johnson sat the whole 4th quarter after getting that stupid unnecessary roughness penalty. And he was the best player on defense all game.
Tremaine Johnson DID play again after getting that penalty. Those penalties really show that the players don't respect Miles. Johnson had the attitude. "Hey, he poked me in the eye. I'm gonna get him." Do you really think Johnson was thinking,"Oh, I better not do anything because it will cost my team and Coach will light up my butt". I give Alem a break on the kicked football. He's really the only D Lineman that has really stepped up this year. He was probably thinking the ball was one of his many teammates who did not step up this year.
