Only 3 of the top 10 Louisiana players have been lost to other teams. We signed 4 of the top 10 - including the best two (which they also fills big needs) - AND the other 3 top 10 LA players are still available and we have an excellent shot at. AND there are another 5 prospects in the top 25 that still show unsigned. I said the other day that every day that top Louisianan player that doesn't sign with someone else is a win. It gives Frank more time to work. This ain't over yet.
I think 2 for sure and likely all 3. So if that happens we get 7 of the top 10 in this "shitty year". For perspective in 2021 we got 6; AND in 2020 we only got 3 of the top 10 LA players. So if we get the cream of LA talent then we can use the TP to add depth that we are missing because of numbers. That's a much easier task than trying to pick up stars. Which today means NIL bidding.
Add the Frazier kid from Florida International and this ends up being a pretty strong class, circumstances considered. But Mr. Woodward is going to have to go back to his TAF buddies and get more money, this time for NIL. The teams we have to overcome are legally paying their players now, and the money we should be using for that is instead needed to pay coaches to leave? That doesn't seem like a championship-winning formula.
NIL money is probably the only reason that Sark signed a great class after leading Texas to a 5-7 2021 season.
