I was at the NFCCG, seated in the loge level, almost directly behind the goalpost where Hartley made the kick. I went with my dad and two brothers, and while they were setting up the stage for the trophy presentation, we had someone a couple of seats behind us take our picture. I have that picture and my ticket stub framed in my office.
Just memories: Like being in Tulane stadium for the first game in 67 against the Rams. We returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Needless to say it was downhill ever since until about 5 years ago.
But that's a priceless memory. I saw my first game in Tulane Stadium in '68, and we got season tickets the following year. I was in the house for Dempsey's 63, Manning's debut win over the Rams and the Cowboys a few weeks later, the 20 minute booing delay against the Eagles, the halftime Battle of New Orleans re-enactment when a cannon backfired and put 3 guys in the hospital, etc, etc.
! SAME HERE!! And we were in a similar location to you guys. The only difference is, mine was taken from our seats, not by the trophy presentation stage. (That would have been the icing on the cake). That pic and those stubs were added to my stubs/pics from both LSU NC games. I call it my 'Wall of Champions'.
Wait, you misunderstood. Our pic is taken from the seats as well; we did not get down on the field. But you can see the stage being set up in the background, as well as the scoreboard reading "NFC Champs." Good framing on the picture. I also have a shot I froze from the FOX coverage on my computer. On one of the replays, they were shooting from the opposite end zone, close up on the ball. I captured the image where you can see the ball going through, and us just off to the side with our arms up. I'll post it if someone would explain to me how to do it.
I have a football with the signatures of Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills, Vaughan Johnson, Pat Swilling, and Toi Cook.
Excellent! Though I would bet for someone in the sports memo business, the Cook autograph devalues the ball somewhat. For a fan, its great.
