He didn't recruit to much here. So I doubt anyone will follow him.

I have heard he is adequate, but it isn't his forte'

You heard correct, but I'm sure there will be many on your staff that will be great at it. Besides, head coaches are usually the one time talkers, the swayers, not the guys that go out and do the leg work, so you should be fairly well off.

Honestly, Pelini is not considered to be a good recruiter...at least while he has been at LSU. It will be important that when he is considering a staff, he consider individuals who have strong recruiting ability. He does not have the kind of following here that would cause any current recruits to follow him, and though the current defensive players at LSU both like and respect him none have voiced any inclination to do so. You need to understand that the LSU football team LOVES Les Miles. He is the epitome of being a players coach. He and their team mates are who their loyalty is directed to.

Don't get caught up in the hype that comes from having a bad day. Pelini was getting grilled the week after the Arkansas based on allowing the Hogs to convert a 4th & 10. At the time, folks thought that would cost us a chance at the NCG.

Pelini's D won the SECCG for us, so this week he's a hero.

On balance, people are very satisfied with his results and are looking forward to his plan for tOSU.

I agree with this. Although, I must admit an affinity for the more aggressive defensive style.

I don't know for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that Pelini, like many coaches, calls formations and defensive plays based on percentages that he's figured out prior to the game. Smart gambling, basically. Sometimes, he gets burned. Most times, he doesn't.

Imagine what would've happened if he had blitzed, Arkansas had picked up a telltale and audibled, and McFadden had run it in from the LOS.

    Same reaction.

well thanks for the replys, Just think, if Les Miles does go to Michigan you guys can just have our next Big XII coach Bill Callahan. You guys can have him for free.

No thanks, I think I would rather have an orangutan in a dress coaching LSU, then Bill Callahan.

I, for one, would have been content with it.

    What's a telltale?

I think Bo will do great at Nebraska, but I do not think he can be successful long term in the SEC with his defensive philosophy. You need to get pressure on the QB and in the SEC that means you need to blitz because the OLines are so large and good.
