He's 32 now. Cecil Collins: Former Miami Dolphins runningback Cecil Collins still living with is mistakes - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com
Writer does make a very good point, though. How do you justify 12+ years in jail when no one got hurt, while Dumb-tae Stallworth spends 24 days in jail for driving drunk and killing a man?
not justifying Stallworth's small sentence, but Cecil's was because it was roughly his 1,000th run-in with the law. He had a sheet and this was the icing on the cake.
yep. was listening to colin cowherd the other day and they were talking about that all the reasons for the 24 day "conviction". 1. some kind of obsecure wording in fla's drunk driving law could have made it hard to get a conviction, given the fact that... 2. the victim's family did not want to pursue the charges. seems they needed "closure" which came in the form of.... 3. a nice fat check from stallworth. 4. maybe the da thought that without cooperation from the family, 24 days and losing his license for life was more than what he could get if the case was taken to trial. as far as cecil, not to sound rude, but who cares.
it was decided that Cecil was a "threat" to society at large, which was potentially the case Dontae going on a killing spree drunk driving is not likely I guess, thus the 30 days I just hope he never sees another dollar from the NFL....that would be sweet justice Leonard Little was allowed a second chance....we'll see what the Fuhrer decides on Stallworth Here is info on Little's 2nd DWI incident (the first time he murdered a woman): "Six years later, Little was again arrested for drunk driving and speeding. The probable cause statement filed by police said Little had bloodshot and watery eyes, smelled of alcohol and failed three sobriety tests. Because of Little's 1999 guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter in his drunken-driving crash case, prosecutors charged him as a persistent offender. This made it a felony case. Little was acquitted of driving while intoxicated, but was convicted only of the misdemeanor speeding charge. " Ah, justice. She's such a fragile and fleeting beauty.
Really sad to read about one of the best Tiger RB's I ever saw. Hope he can turn around the rest of his life.
