So, our D has been struggling mightily lately. Wut up wit dat? We be lookin like the aints out there on D. A&M was moving the ball at will. Is Chavis on cruise control?
Didn't we have a few people kinda banged up at the end of the season? Brandon Taylor comes to mind, anyone else? Not saying that's all there is to it, but it doesn't help. As far as A&M, they got 373 on us and we were allowing 302 on average coming in. I kinda figured they'd move the ball on us. That's just the kind of team they are.. But I also figured they'd make a few mistakes and give it up and as we saw, our D didn't give them margin for error. Particularly, Tyrann Mathieu.
aTm spead offense is a challenge. They got to us at first but did you notice the adjustments made in 2nd qtr and half? We pretty much stuffed them.
A&M has a very good QB, a good RB and a very good OL, which all adds up to a very good offense. Really.
After spotting them 10.. LSU held beat the aggies 41-14. With one of those 7s on a drive where they got them 4-12. The. Had to many men. Aggies are not bad. I think they did fine
We haven't been able to get pressure with our D Line this season since Sam Montgomery went down. Not having a true pass rushing defense end killed us. It put more pressure on Drake, because he drew the double and triple teams. With Sam, if Drake drew the double, Sam would be in the backfield.
aTm threw lots of very quick passes. They have talent, and when those throws are perfect you can't stop them. Eventually, you guess, and jump a route, or you get a pass break up on first down and stop a run and it leaves them with 3rd and long. That is when you can stop them.
They run a no huddle offense, get a lot of plays in. The defense played very well, IMO. Especially considering the amount of true freshman making plays. We are gonna be scary next season.
