So far, every recruit that I've read about has loved his trip down to BR. We are being mentioned by lots of the top recruits, many from around the nation. What do you think Miles & Co. are selling the kids on? I remember of last year's recruits, a few mentioned that his focus on education was a big plus. Whatever he's doing, it seems to be working...
Nearly everyone I've read about commented on the academic facilities and the gpa/graduation rate of the football team. Also, they really liked Miles as a person...all say he is very laid back, cool, and straight forward. Jimbo, Searles, Peveto, Porter, Henson, and Pelini have also been commented on frequently. Strangely, I haven't read many updates on players that mentioned Dunbar..who I thought (and still think) would be our best recruiter.
I was reading on rivals about a few recruits from texas who want to be a package deal... they said LSU is their #1 right now mainly because of the Cox Academic thingamagigger...
The construction of SABANVILLE with it's state of the art facilities, a nice stadium with 92-95k(with another 15-30k outside) of their closest friends and family showing up for a party every saturday. A showpiece house for Mike(Yes its the little things too). A damn fine nationally respected academic institution. The nations finest foods bar none. More than our fair share of pretty ladies, and the fact that most of the other important and not so important sports do well. Hell if I was six feet four, 230 lbs, 4.5 forty, bench volkswagons for fun, why in hell would I want to go anywhere else. Now you combine that with a more personable coaching staff, and recent history, these highschool kids have got to take a very long hard look before they decide to go elsewhere. :hihi: :hihi: :thumb: :thumb: :hihi: :hihi:
LSU is a very good academic school but compared to other national schools we still have a ways to go.
We do. In comparison with other top "academic schools" across the country, Standford, Duke, Vanderbilt, etc., our academic center is brining us closer to those guys--but THOSE guys have a long way to go before brinign themselves closer to us in terms of fascilities. That's where we're "reeling them in". It's the combination of both academic fascilities and sports fascilities.....plus we're a top-10 program P.S. I thought the commitment by QB Alex Cate from Utah was a huge pickup. Not gonna be the tallest of the group, nor the most athletic, but having another scholarship QB is a BIG plus considering we have 2 QB's that believe they will go pro before their Sr. year....
