What's Chavis' gameplan vs Brantley and what's a Brantley led offense look like?

I think part of the issue with him giving up so many points to Florida is what concerns me. He had no offense to help his defense out a Tennessee the last couple of years. You can not leave a great offense on the field the whole night or they will light you up, I don't care how good the defense is. If we dio not control the ball some and help our defense out, it will be along night.

Only in the 2007 season, with was a disaster for Chavis' D.

The other 3 seasons, the Vols kept the Florida offense in check better than anyone else that year.

    2005 lost 16-7
    2006 lost 21-20
    2008 lost 30-6

Florida must have had the ball for nearly 40 minutes in 2008, as the offense did absolutely nothing in that game. Florida had some short field drives to get to 30 points.

In those 3 games, Florida averaged somewhere in the neighborhood of 270-280 yards.

absolutely. last year held them to about 100-150 yds fewer than anyone else did all season.

I remember the Tennessee fans going nuts in 2008 because it was one of those "3rd & Chavis" games.

Yeah well the rest of their opponents were suffering from 1st and (insert DC name here).

    So it's all relative.

Exactly. I keep seeing the Chavis vs. Meyer reference, and it puzzles me.

It's all hearsay and it just gets repeated without further investigation.

A lemmings type mindset. Time to edge yourselves back from the cliff.

Maybe because Chavis is 0 and whatever against Meyers?

    You mean like this?

Tennessee has more time of Possession than Florida in 2008 game. 30:02 - 29:58

I guess, but it isn't because of his own shortcomings. Florida was constantly given a short field last year. I don't really recall the TOP issue, but I do remember the Tennessee defense being constantly put in bad situations, yet they still managed to perform better than anyone else did against Meyer.
