I'm telling you, no one is going to look good with our OL's performance. The QB's undergo some of the most extensive evaluations and for some reason he is CLM's man. I wouldnt mind seeing the others get some PT, but until QB's get some protection they are all going to be in trouble.

Easy, be named the starter by Coach Les Miles.

JJ obviously has trouble reading what the defense is giving him.I think he needs to improve on that and also be an emotional leader on the field. I just hope that the players on offense dont lose confidence in him. He just needs to play and lead the Tiger offense with a lil more swagger, then maybe he can light a spark.

I dont mind him starting but play Jarrett, play Russell. Weve been running a 2 qb "system" why not 3?

    THIS!!!

Not this. IMO, Jefferson NEVER needs to visit the pocket. ROLL HIM OUT EVERY TIME HE THROWS!!! He's good at it. He is NOT a pocket passer. Get over it, coaches.

That shouldn't cut it in the SWAC. IMO, I'd just love to see some confidence. Step up and utilize what he's got - Recievers. And some good quick passes. But JJ is the starter and should stay the starter. But I like a 2 QB and 2 RB system cause I think its confusing at times.

Rollouts don't work when the entire known world can see that is the only thing he can do... I said this before the being of the year that those rollouts and outside option plays would dry up in SEC action... they dried up in game one.

Then he started to take losses on the option pitch plays.

The teams are giving the slants and the whole middle of the field 12-20 yards down field. That is the play... if you can't hit that play and with a weaker run OL than you are going to struggle... end of story.

Defenses have played LSU perfect this year. I would continue to stack the middle and watch Jefferson for the rollouts and pitch options. If Jefferson could beat me time and time again at the 12-20 yard routes that are completely wide open then I would take my chances with that.

If he or whoever you put in at QB can't hit the 12-20 yard open route time and time again... then LSU will struggle on offense.

You would get him decapitated from a safety/CB blitz. You simply can't defend him rolling out every time he throws the ball.

You did say that, but they haven't dried up because they rarely call that play. Everytime they do roll Jefferson out he throws the most beautiful pass of his career. But you are right they can't do it every time. His pocket awareness just needs to get waaaaay better. No more running 12 steps back and whipping around and then just sitting there, no skipping around sideways, take the snap, 3 step drop, make your read, launch it, or take off. No more whistling dixie in the pocket waiting for your microwave popcorn to finish, that internal clock should be telling him "ok jj its time to get the F out of here".

To me Jefferson is far more dangerous with his legs than he is with his arm. He is accurate, but his motion is way too elongated and slow, which already puts him behind the clock. I am by no means a coach, but to me this is elementary stuff, LSU's main focus should be controlling the line of scrimmage. When you have a "Green" quarterback his best friend is the running game, we MUST start running the ball effectively or its game over. Once we start running the ball well, that will open up opportunities for Jefferson to throw the ball downfield, until then the only passes we should be attempting right now are the short routes, screens, and let our playmakers make plays. I hate to say it, because i know that alot of people were really mad with the Vanilla offense, but what we saw against Washington and Vanderbilt is exactly what this offense should be doing, only difference is we never established the run or dominated the line of scrimmage, so it made those plays less effective. And Jefferson has to get the ball to the receivers in stride, and the receivers and tight ends have to block better downfield so we aren't losing yards on pass plays. When we start doing this really well, then you will see holes opening up in defenses downfield.
