1st time poster here. I have been looking for a quality LSU forum that rises above sophomoric trash talking.

    Onto the topic at hand.

I live in Annapolis now and came down for the Virginia Tech game with a buddy from work who is a Tech grad. That was a great weekend and great game for me, my co-worker had fun up until kickoff but was very gracious in defeat.

But my favorite game last season was the Auburn game simply for the OMG factor. Florida could have been a toss up for my favorite, but there is something oh so special in seeing Tubberville sucker punched.

Welcome to TF! Red55, we call him Red, ran a thread on who was coach when you became a fan of LSU football, and most are from the McClendon era, with a few that go farther back like me, to Deitzel. Course I mostly remember McClendon stuff, cause he was the coach for so long. But, hopefully you have found "home" on the net, I found it here. We're a bit more mature. We've got variety I enjoy, some typical La. humor, some posters from our "friends teams" who hang out and spice stuff up. Then, every once in a while, we just go bezerk for some strange reason, like when Saban accepted the job at Bama. The internet lines were busy for a while. Hopefully you have found what you're looking for! Post away!

Florida was a DAMN good game, but my favorite has to be Auburn. It was my first experience in Tiger Stadium and wow!!! I really don't think I could have asked for anything more.:thumb:

I have to say the Alabama game, just because one of my best friends is a Bama Alumn, his face after Doucet scored was priceless. I still remember it right now.

But my reason is the Doucet touchdown. That move that he put on the safety was sick to say the least. That was the best move of the season hands down. He made that guy look ridiculous, like what are you even doing on scholarship.

Thanks for the welcome from all.

I don't go quite back as far as Dietzel, but I remember many a Saturday night listening to LSU on WWL in my parents' house. McClendon, Bert Jones, Charles Alexander, the Bo Rein tragedy, the Stovall years....all great memories.

I'm slowly getting over Saban's decision to take the Bama job. Can we make a Saban voodoo doll and stick pins in his recruiting prowess regions (and maybe a stray pin or two as a slight behavior correction)??

4th down plays, USC loses to Stanford, Mike VI's first Tiger Stadium appearance. Doesn't get any better than that.

This years Florida game was a higher scoring version of last years Auburn game. "That was a war". Here were 2 juggernauts that just went at it for a full 60 minutes. Constantly trading punches to see who was the baddest S.O.B. on the block. You had the Tebow hype-machine vs. the overgrown heart and determination of Hester. There were big plays, 4th downs, the loudest venue in the country, primetime on National TV, Florida jumping on the eye, Tebow trash talking the student section, student section saluting him in return. To that point in the season, you already had highly ranked teams falling to lesser opponents when things got tight. Here you had 2 teams showing that had what it took to dig deeper and find that little extra. There was the eruption when the USC score was announced, Mike was introduced to the crowd for the 1st time. Defending National Champ vs. one of the favorites for this year.

I don't know of any other game played in the last decade by any 2 teams that had what this game had.
