Is it OK to hope Andrew Crutchfield surprises the nation by averaging 79 yards per punt? heh

Seriously, I hope some LBs come up to surprise since LB may be the weakest overall position at LSU right now. I'm not even sure who the starters will be come August. Sure, Beckwith is there, but who else is going to take up Highsmith's and Sanders' spots?

You do, if you care about your credibility. Mitchell may be overhyped in both sports, but it's because of his potential which is immense. He's still a young player with a lot to learn and he may need to focus on one sport or the other, like most athletes do, but he's definitely an athlete who is going to carve a niche for himself somewhere. I see no need for anyone to underhype him, much less carve him up as you do. We know good and well that he's not the pathetic player that you describe.

Wow, you obviously must have been one hell of a player and/or coach to have such an in depth negative analysis of a player. I would have loved to watch you play and/or see them teams and players that you may have coached.

Good point for this thread! I'll be surprised when I find out who the starters will be. If they play extremely well, that would be an upside surprise. Most folks are hoping for consistent competency, I think.

I do hope some other LB's step up. Maybe it's me; Beckwith is heck of a player, but I have always been concerned about his knee health.

Maybe we should think about lining up Trindon behind the center and just watch him run the corner to the endzone on every snap.

Riley & Shepard, both of whom I think will be very good. However, I don't expect them to be very flashy or receive much national attention this year. Next season though, one or both will be.

I was just going to say that I think Shepard (now our only #11) should be good this year.
