don't know this for sure, but heard Toliver has mild dyslexia with letters and numbers and that is what threw him off with his plays, b/c the play in the huddle is a code off the QBs wrist band most of the time. If that is indeed true, I hope they got it fixed.
Ok, I'm going out on a limb here Surprise - Jarrett Lee. I've read some negative things about him and I was a little disappointed in his spring game performance but he is a perfect fit for Crowton's offense. He is very accurate and throws 'darts'. Not known for his running ability but LSU has a few backs who can run. Not know for his scrambling ability so what to do. Play action with an aforementioned dart to Dickson, LaFell or Byrd. I understand he got flustered in the spring game which was a surprise to me. In High School he was known as a cool customer. I think after a little experience and getting used to the big stage and he will be all right. I wouldn't be surprised if I was disappointed though. Disappointment - Jai Eugene. Based on what I've seen he is a blown coverage waiting to happen. I wouldn't be disappointed if I was surprised though.
I expect Jerrett Lee to have a break-open season. Keiland Williams and Richard Murphy have alread garnered some attention, but they could become national headline-makers this year. RJF should have the break-open year on defense that Lee has on offense.
I think Pittman makes the most out of his extra year I think Charles Alexander comes back hungry this year I think Beckwith has a great year a leader. I am not sure he will make the most tackles but i think he will really step up as a leader of the defense. On offense I think Johnson and Black really get a lot of press. And because the OL is so strong this year i think one of the running backs has a break out year. My bet would be Murphy.
Dickson will make himself into an All-American if we have a QB that can get him the ball. Ciron Black may do it, too. The NFL will be very interested in both of them. Jean-Francois of course. There are your All-American candidates.
I actually don't think a standout year by RJF would be a surprise, not after his play in the MNC game. If anything, he may have set expectations very high for himself where anything other than an outstanding year will be a bit of a disappointment. I'll cry like a little girl if JLee has a redshirt freshman year like Hodson did back in the day...not that I'm expecting it. How long until the first game? I hate this time of the year.
defensively kirston pittman, and harry coleman will be surprises. offensively richard murphy is going to blow peoples socks off. i think a dissapointment will be jarret lee, i watched this kid throughout highschool and i wasnt really impressed at all. i hope im wrong. and Jared Mitchell will be another disappointment.
After losing 2 Senior Starting DBs and 1 All American Strong Safety. I think the entire secondary will surprise people with our talent and tough play. Coleman, Taylor, Jones, P Johnson, Williams, Hawkins, Eugene, McCray and some others. On offense, Richard Murphy will blow people away, he wont get as many carries as Williams or Scott, but he is the game breaker. Lafell could have a monster year as well. Barksdale, I am looking to for him to have a great season. Last but not least that Tight End of ours, the short pass will thrive this season at LSU, look for this guy to make at least 2nd team All American.
