Here's this week's rankings from LVSC. (Las Vegas Sports Consultants is the largest betting clearing house and most Las Vegas casinos use LVSC's lines for all sports betting.) As a disclaimer for those of you who will immediately notice the USC bias, remember LVSC kept you at #1 last year, despite your overtime losses... and also had tOSU ranked low enough to not be in last year's Championship game. On the left is this week's ranking, then the team, its power ranking, then last week's ranking. 1 Southern Cal 113.6 1 2 Florida 112.9 3 3 Texas 112.0 2 3 Oklahoma 112.0 3 5 Penn State 110.9 5 6 Texas Tech 109.3 9 7 Alabama 108.5 7 8 Missouri 107.0 8 9 Oklahoma State 106.6 10 10 Georgia 106.5 6 11 Ohio State 105.6 11 12 LSU 104.4 12 13 Texas Christian 104.0 13 14 California 103.8 14 15 West Virginia 102.9 18 16 Kansas 102.7 20 17 Arizona 102.6 17 18 Utah 102.4 19 18 Boise State 102.4 22 20 Oregon 101.9 15 21 Brigham Young 101.6 16 22 South Carolina 101.5 24 23 Florida State 101.4 21 24 Oregon State 101.2 25 25 North Carolina 100.5 26 26 Cincinnati 100.3 NR 27 Illinois 100.0 NR 28 Michigan State 100.0 30 29 Georgia Tech 99.9 NR 29 Pittsburgh 99.9 NR The next 10: Iowa, Mississippi, Tulsa, Boston College, Nebraska Maryland, South Florida, Clemson, Notre Dame and Wisconsin Hence, LSU is a 4 point underdog, but gets no gift for home field advantage, usually a two to three point variance. I expect you guys to show up and play a hellava game against "Bear" Saban. Also, on behalf of our beloved Hawkeyes, we are a -7.5 pick against Penn State @ Iowa City. We are kinda like Mississippi this year and we will play well at home. We are 5-4 and our 4 losses have been by a combined 12 points. We are 5-2 against PSU since 2000 and have no fear of playing them, as we have been their worst nightmare of late. So, you do your job and we'll do ours.... to shake up the BCS one more time!!
Historically, my math errors are directly related to my morning coffee consumption.... then you add in my horoscope for today... not pretty...
i thought being favored was a reach so i had to check. should be a good game. iowa was playing well til i finally picked em last week. im gonna jinx em again in our spread pool. sorry.
ive got iowa +6.5. got a good feeling and i have no idea why. This may be the last week we see USC as #1. Im not so sure Florida wouldn't be favored over them on a neutral field if they have one more dominant week.
