Yes, and think it's a bit much to think that LSU (or any offense ever created) could/should dominate and score an arseload of points EVERY half. Back-to-Back 2 loss seasons for LSU and USC. Kinda looks like we already are.:hihi: They stepped up when they needed to and did it down the stretch.
the worst thing of all is not the loss per se as much as the opportunity wasted. takes a lot to fall into place to play for the NC and it is one opportunity we may not see for another 20 yrs. who knows. 10-2 is great once you look back on it but the crystal ball was ripe for the picking. moreso than ever before. also, did I mention mcfadden is decent.
I'm glad someone else has noticed this. Too bad it takes someone else from another fanbase. This is especially true for our D. They're banged up and tired. i guarantee if we can make it through one more week and win the SECCG, this team will win the Sugar Bowl. All they need is a little time to rest and heal, then they'll return to their early season form. This season has been full of some of the most physical football I have ever witnessed. It's not the SEC for nothing.
Why is that so? Do we not have any other backs capable of running a reverse? I'm pretty sure that Williams, Scott and Murphy have big time speed equal to what most big time starting RB's have and other teams run reverses without Holiday on their team. Hell how many runs designed to go outside did LSU run 2 or 3 maybe? Williams, Scott and Murphy's talent are being wasted by this staff, all three have the speed to take it to the house on any play. There are 119 Division I teams(or whatever they call it now) and if every team had LSU's running backs Williams would start on 118 of those teams with LSU being the lone exception. LSU didn't lose because the very seldom used holiday was injured.
Awful game to be on the losing side of. Argh. As bad as this was, it wasn't really unexpected. In each loss this season it became obvious that our defense was not going to stop our opponent's offense and that our offense couldn't keep up (going into OT). I guess we can blame injuries, but our D hasn't looked too good lately (puff out your chest because of stats if you want). I'm not super thrilled with our offense's consistency or grit. I don't think we're as hard nosed on offense as Hester makes us seem. That fourth and short call was a good example of how hard nosed our offensive play-calling is. I'm not sold on our coaching staff. We'll see how this drama plays out, but I'd be a little shocked to see Pelini heading Nebraska or Miles heading Michigan. Very disappointing and I am beginning to feel resigned to being just another team among the pack of SEC teams. If Miles and Pelini stay, I expect ups and downs and I think Miles will be here for a while. If they go, probably still ups and downs and there will be a lot of jobs open this season.
hey now, lets put this in persepctive! You arent seeing the big picture, dog houses are more important than trophies.
