me included. I really thought he was too small to take a guy down like mcfadden 1 on 1. he did it at least 4 times i recall. I think it was doug moreau who said during pregame that Hillis would be the difference maker in a game like this. He realized like many of us that LSUs weakness is the linebackers (#35 in particular) covering a good back over the middle, much like the problem we had with saban as well. looks like mr moreau was dead-on. put down the crackpipe and slowly step away from the ledge.
I'll say this for LSU. They may have been more tired tonight, but after the schedule that was layed out and played for you folks you could see the toll it took on them. It's a tough loss for sure. It's just dang near impossible to have the success you've had against so many ranked teams and not come away limping and beaten from it. Good luck in Atlanta against whomever it may be.
I'm not on the ledge, I just want LSU to gets its Bowden or JoePa, I want someone with Louisiana ties that WANTS to be here because it is LSU and what they can do for the school, not what the school can do for them.
you cant have one without the other. a great coach is a great coach. whether he stays for 5 or 10 years is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. the only modern day bowden type is bob stoops and he aint the greatest either. tubby may be the next and what does he have to show for it. id take rodriguez I suppose if i had my choice. I hate to agree with that one person on his nuts.
I agree, tired of LSU being a stepping stone need someone who is going to stick with us. Do you think Miles would be mentioned for the UM job if he had not came to LSU and was stuck at a middle of the pack Big 12 team?
Totally agrred on Ali. Probably the LSU player of the game but......... Pelini should have put Ali man on man with Peyton Hillis on that 2nd TD in OT instead of forcing Ali to run over from his LB position to cover Hillis. I and probably 96,200 people in the stadium also saw that the ball was going to be thrown to him.
I agree, he did stay with him but from coming over at his LB position. Ali or someone should have been on him at the line of scrimmage. Maybe bump him or something before he runs the route.
LSU should have been wearing teams out with their running game this year. They have the horses. They've shown it at times, but always seemed determined to throw even with an inconsistent passing game. I figured by this time, they would be steamrolling teams with their depth, like 2003, but it didn't happen. Just one carry for Scott, today. I know the rushing numbers on the season look good, but I never felt like that became the identity of this offense the way it could have. If you can run the ball, you run the ball. That's Football 101. I just feel like they could have done more with the personnel. And that fourth down call was just idiotic. I told my wife LSU was a case of talent overcoming incompetence. So many mistakes. And those timeouts on the final drive leaving Arkansas with time to mount their own drive. WTF was Miles thinking?
