I think we are going to have a bad season. I have accepted it. Therefore anything good that happens is all Lagniappe.
This season could be anything from a dumpster fire to winning the West. For years, we have just needed decent QB play to be back to our dominant ways. Maybe Burrows can provide it if the OL can give him time. We will learn a lot on Sunday night even though it will be his first start. Until then, I will just enjoy the anticipation of a new season.
Sunday cannot get here fast enough. I think... While none of us really know what we are going to get, it really pisses me off the way the media are giving us no chance at all to win this game. They may be right, and objectively there really isn't anything that would lead you to believe we are going to all of a sudden move the ball at will but cheese and rice, these guys are acting as if we are a high school team. I hope we shove it right up some cane cornhole.
I want a win. I'll take an ugly one. Because our qb situation is as jacked (unproven) as its ever been. But we can't play hide the qb and run a prevent offense. Ensminger should lead and show some balls as this is his one shot to step out the shadows and make his mark. That doesn't mean we are okie lite. It just means play aggressive when needed and use the talent on hand. Everyone assumes we have a world class defense bc you kinda have to if you wish for a successful season. Odds are they won't be as good as hoped so the offense will have to carry us at multiple times throughout the season. I dont mind starting ugly but let's get lsu v2.0 going in the right direction and kick start this program in gear. It's long overdue.
Unproven HC, OC, QB and offensive skill players Going up against the #8 team in the nation / a Miami team the media desperately wants to be back to who it once was. A Miami team returning more starters with a proven QB and is favored by Vegas. Makes all the sense in the world. I like it, the pressure is on Miami. I think Miami fans feel they are being disrespected more than LSU is by the media right now because they believe they are hands down better than LSU and that they will roll over us with ease. They cant believe people are actually thinking this game will even be close, check out their message boards.... But I love the fact they have written us off and left us for dead. I hope our guys are tuned in and feeding off that.
