I should've clarified my post and said CB, not DB. Dirty 30 was a safety and Johnson will be a CB. As TB3 pointed out, CB is tougher to learn and so unforgiving if a youngster's confidence is rattled early.

I'm with islstl though. Let's wait and see what happens.

I agree with you on that one, no matter how smart this young man is, learning much more complex offensive plays and routes are light years away from HS. Not to mention the awesome difference in speed. I don't think he'll really figure into the mix for at least another year, although I'm sure he'll see some sporadic play time this coming season, if for no other reason, just to get his feet wet, so to speak.

I'm a lot more comfortable with Scott at running back than anyone I've seen stepping in to replace Jackson. Hester is a great person with all the intangibles, heart, desire, tenacity. Scott may show more of that, and I think he will, when he knows he's the man. I'm thinking he beats Williams out with his power.

Now some of the young corners WILL step up. Practicing every day with the starters, getting some intensive coaching when you make a mistake, you will get better. But the gap between the young kids and the current starter looks bigger at CB.

P Johnson has the raves, he may work out fine, or JE may step up and be fine, but I just think the question mark is big at corner next year. I'm confident our play at safety is taken care of. I've seen Chad Jones, and I believe in Chad. He's not an upgrade in hitting power, but he is an upgrade in speed, IMO.

I agree - CJ will be toughest to replace. P Johnson looks to be promising, but even if he starts as a true freshman, I'm betting he'll be more in learning mode and get picked on a lot. Seems to me there's a big difference between high school stud and covering the SEC receiving corps.

For heart and soul of the team, agree, Hester on O, Dorsey on D. They went out for the coin toss in the NCG, with Flynn.

I'm going to go with the not-so-common response and say:

    "ALL SENIORS"

This has been the MOST successful Sr. class in LSU history. Thank for all the great work over the last 4-5 years! :thumb:

And that record is likely to be broken by next year's seniors. 10 wins will do it.

You took the words out of my mouth. :thumb:

The leadership they displayed on and off the field was exemplary and was a huge contributing factor in the success we enjoyed this year.

They have built the foundation :crystal: :crystal: . It is now up to those who follow to continue this amazing run. I'm confident they will.

Now back to original question. If you held a gun to my head and asked me to pick one Sr., I'd go with Mr. Clutch, Hester.

Dorsley, not just because of his level of talent, but because of his leadership skills.

I wouldn't be nearly as confident in PJ if he were not going to be here in the spring. That's going to give him a big jump in the learning curve. True, he'll still be an untested freshman, but I'm learning that pessimism is wasted energy in regards to this football team. I thought we were in big trouble two years ago when Webster and Daniels graduated. Zenon and Jackson had very little experience at the time they moved up. We've got too much talent waiting their turn now to believe that someone (2 someones) won't step up.
