I did list the QB position as a "must need for '07"...

But all things being equal, next year, we lose both safeties and at least one CB that will surely be getting playing time next season (Sammy Joseph). With the uncertain status surrounding a few of our DB recruits, and them being qualified for '07, we could find ourselves a little on the "thin" side in terms of secondary depth....

Also, we signed 5 O-linemen this year...but we're losing 6 to graduation next year. So I think we need 2-3 in next year's class and at least one of them needs to be a top-end recruit.

As for the QB situation. Yes, you're right, JR and MF would be nearing the end of their eligibility...but they still have another year beyond '07 and RP would have 3 more after '07. Yes we need a QB or two in the '07 recruiting class. No disagreeing there....but I think it's a bigger priority on the line and in the defensive backfield--both positions that a recruit for '07 will be filling LONG before a QB recruit...

I can tell you who is showing intrest on Rivals already:

    Joe Chaisson
    Jarvis Givens
    Jimmy Clausen
    Jaret Lee
    Michael Park
    A'Jami Guyton
    Nick Fanuzzi
    Cameron Newton

But there are a ton of qb's who show no intrest in anyone yet. Hope this helps. :thumb:

What do ya'll think of this Johnnie Thiel, the QB that took Perrilloux's place at St John high school? Looks like he's got some potential, could be the kinda guy we need - he's already used to sitting behind Perrilloux. :hihi:

I have no problem with Rahim as long as he takes out his anger on the infidels on the opponents' teams.

I think we need another 2-3 O-linemen (and a true center in the group wouldn't hurt)

    another 1-2 DT's

We need at LEAST one 3* QB in this class--preferably 2.

    2-3 TRUE MLB'ers

    2-3 OLB's

    2-3 DE's

    2-3 true corners

    2-3 true safties

    1-2 WR's

    1 kicker

Just because of his height? A 5'9" QB can still be successful and sure wouldn't write him off just because of that.

I would. NFL coaches would. You have to be able to see over the line.

No. You would, but not ALL NFL coaches would. Doug Flutie anyone??? Besides, the kid is 5'9" NOW...but that doesn't mean he won't grow another inch or two. Besides, Drew Brees....is listed at 6'0"

That's a 3 full inches. Besides, the book isn't quite out on Brees.

How many games has Flutie started in his 12-year NFL career? Oh yeah.... 66.

Don't bring up exceptions to me and claim that he's a representative of the average NFL Quarterback. There's a reason why Flutie rode the pine for 8 years in NE.
