What positions will be needed for 07 recruiting?

I feel that we will always need depth at O-line and D-line. I also think that we need to pick up a quality QB, and solidfy our linebacking situation. What does everyone else think?:tigerhead

 

You're right about QB & O-line, with D-line to a lesser extent after this good class we just got. Other than that, I guess we just have to see what happens throughout the season. A top safety might be necessary. Little Clausen is said to have serious interest in LSU and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. He'll be the #1 QB recruit in the nation, so he could scare some other quality QBs away, and I think he'll end up signing with someone else. I've heard next year's Louisiana O-line recruits will be much better than last years, which will make things easier on the coaching staff.

 

I am curious how many receivers we will get. I mean, at some point we have to become full at the position. We just landed three 4 star WR's, in addition to the five 4-5 star receivers we already had at the position!

It looks like our first verbal commit is projected to be a WR in college, and he sounds pretty exciting. I just don't think we should give scholarships to more than 2 WRs next year.

 

I say we focus strongly on targetting a blue chip safety or two (losing Landry and Daniels will be a HUGE void in the secondary).

In a nut-shell, I say order of importance for the class of '07 is:

1. OL
2. DB's (safeties/corners)
3. QB
4. DE
5. LB
6. WR
7. TE
8. RB

 

ol, safeties(jones and francois), qb, DE(WM kids), LB, TE, RB, One more WR.

I would like to see it in that order.

 

think there is any truth to the Al Jones rumors and if so will that affect/impact LSU's chances of landing Chad?

 

well it is a fact that he does protest and he was suppose to change his name. Now the rumors about him and being and bad standing with the coaches is not true is what i was told by somebody on the team.

 

I may just be out of the loop, but what are these rumors?

 

The rumors are as follows:

1) he is protesting causes such as confederate flags and getting his name changed to a muslim name
2) he is in bad standing with the coaches due to practices and meetings missed while protesting.
3) he is very unhappy at LSU

I haven't heard anything about him missing practice or getting on the coaches' bad side.
