I only knew that he played DT and was listed as such, but Dandy Don is listing him as DE/OL. Does anyone else think he will play these positions instead of DT. Did he play on the OL in high school?

I see on scout that he is listed as a DE but projected to play DT. Based on earlier comments on this sight about how slow he looked, I suppose the projection to DT is based on his lack of speed.

He can be a great DT or OL, but he wont play DE in the SEC. He might be able to play DE in the Big 12. He doesnt have the speed or agility to be a DE in the SEC. I think the coaches will sort through all the DT recruits and returning vets, see where Blackwell fits in comparison to the others. After evaluating him they will decide if they see him more at DT or OL. Personally, I think they will give him a shot at DT, but I think he will end up at T or G. He will be a top notch player down the road at either, but with all the depth at DT I think they will put him on the OL, only if it appears the need is there.

1 year at Dt, then he will move to OT... he didnt want to play OT, but once he is here, Miles will convince him to make the move..

He has the most potential at Oline, but we'll have to see what happens with that because that is not the position we are bringing him in for.

Early in the process Blackwell was quoted as saying most schools were recruiting him as a DT, but Pelini actually wanted him as a DE. This may have changed, but I'm still going to assume DE.

With all the depth at D-line I could see why he would be moved to O-line, especially if he has the talent to do well there.

That suprises me because speed wise I dont see how he would fit the LSU scheme at DE. Pelini knows what he is doing, so gotta have faith in him.

What about his speed, isn't that a concern? I couldn't find where he played OL in high school so am I correct in assuming he didn't? If he is able I wouldn't mind him playing OL at all. Out of all of our positions I think OL is consistently our hardest to get top recruits in numbers. It just doesn't seem like our state produces that many. For example, Ciron Black is from TX, a graduating senior from CANADA! Three recruits this year one from TX, one from Florida, one from GA. If he never played OL before though we really don't know just how good he will be at the position.
