Coaches should not be allowed to vote for their own team. The system is whack. Of course Saban will try to get his own team in. The stupid ones should just have their voting rights terminated.
What did okie state not have that bama did? Nick saban begging on national tv on espn gameday and CBS ' sec championship pregame show. This is what will be interesting to watch, how many voters on the bcs polls are bloggers or independent columist and get a one on one interview with either saban or bama players.
And did you notice the class of Les Miles? Alabama 2nd. If our Coach wants to play them, then :geauxtige :crystal:
Had the Wolfe computer placed Oklahoma State #2, then the 6 coaches and as many as 17 Harris voters would have made the difference. It would have been a much bigger deal and an outcry for these voters to place Oklahoma State lower than 3 behind a team that didn't even win their division (Stanford).
Well I think you can bet Pickens will make sure the flaws are exposed. They need to ****can all human polls IMO.
I can see the self serving Saban labelling them 4th, but then, this is yet another flaw in the system where a coach who's team is under consideration has a vote. Conflict of interest?? BUT .. what's up with Troy Calhoun ... he had OSU at 5th behind AR Then there's Shaw of Stanford, and Duke and Syracuse ... I guess that's understandable, ya know, geeks hanging together. I guess Pinkel had voting in Bama as a precondition for entering the SEC.:hihi:
I bet Okie State wishes there was a big 12 title game this year. a 12th win in an extra game on a neutral field agains K-State probably would have pushed them over the top in the computers and the polls. the Big 12 has nobody to blame but themselves for letting Nebraska and Colorado get away.
