I'm sure RS could run the option better than the version we're running now. RS at QB and Trindon at tailback and see where that takes us. CLM (and I think maybe take the "C" off because he's showing not to be much of a coach) and Crowton need to either make some big changes or please leave our program. There is no way with an offense full of 5* players for us to be 109 out of 120 (or whatever) offenses in the land! That's not player problems, that's coaching problems. We needed speed against the fastest defense in the country and our most elusive players did not play ONE down! How could that happen, especially when the country is watching and recruits are looking to see last years top high school players closest to their ages JUST SIT ON THE BENCH! That could have been RS coming out party. With a very average Tibow that game was very winnable. Are LM (no "C") and Crowton trying to steer the best recruits away from LSU. I can't think of anything else since this was the biggest stage so far this year. One other thing, and I'm serious about this. I'm married to a Korean woman (10 years) who has taken to the game realizing how important it is (Tigers and Saints) to me. She calls the plays now based on the formation! And she's correct 90%+ of the time. Any formation we have seems to be one of 2 or 3 plays. Looking at Floridas formation one has no idea whether Tebow is going to run, hand off, shuffle pass the ball or throw it...and to either side. I'm sick! I can't see the top recruits wanting to come to Baton Rouge with the current philosophy (either game management or player management). What the hell ever happened to "let playmakers make plays"????? It's every companies managements job to put associates in a position to shine. LSU's football management has failed to do that since we won the national championship. I've read about Crowton's past and it seems people have warned us about the likelihood of this exact thing happening because Crowton seems to have had a history of first year greatness only to fall flat after. I don't know why, but if appears to be happening again.
Well I dont get these kids and the faceyspaces and their rock n roll Dan Fogelberg music cranked up to 11...but if what you are hearing is true...sounds like he is questioning his decision to come here.
I dont believe it. Is he frustrated? Probably. Has he expressed it to his friends? Probably. Part of it may be the ridiculous hype that surrounded him. He may have started reading his own press clippings and message board adulation that was so far over the top it was laughable. I just dont believe he is reconsidering his decision. He is a competitor and competitors want to play.
What must Russell Shepard be thinking?..."Maybe if I switch to defense, I'll be able to get in the game." . (I'm just a sunshine pumper trying to figure out how the no. 1 recruit in the USA will be able to salvage a burnt redshirt year and have some type of token impact at least.:angry
YouTube - Russell Shepard - High school 2008 (Senior yr) I have seen enough to be convinced he should start over JJ or Lee
As most know the rumors about Shepard facebook page were fake but he made sure to set it straight anyway.
