This is purely just for speculation! But this is the guy that: 1.) Came to LSU in JANUARY months earlier then other incoming freshmen. 2.) When interviewed said: I want to come in here and help this team anyway I can..it can be on defense or returning kicks...whatever it takes I dont want to redshirt I want to help win now! I dont know the kid but all the interviews I have seen with him leading up to the season led me to believe the kid has a good head on his sholders and a desire and passion to be a TIGER!!! SO do YOU think that the way Miles has chosen to play him has made him rethink his desicion to come here? What do you think his mindset is?
We don't know what was discussed before and during the season. He may be fine with what is going on. However, being the competitive person I am, I want to be on in everything that this going to help win. And I would assume(there's that word again) that he is as much or more competitive than I am. So even if he is playing to the plan, it has to be eating his insides sitting on the sidelines.
Trust me, he is not fine with what is going on. I know he's disgusted and angry he did not get in that game vs Florida, knowing full well that he may have been one of the few options to rely on that would have made any significant difference vs this vaunted Florida defense. Things are not good in Russell Shepard's world. Les Miles needs to make it up to this kid the rest of the season before we lose him. And I do mean lose him.
I've wondered for a while about how we've handled Shepard. I think Miles has bungled it. He should never have promised Shepard no redshirt if he only planned on giving him token plays.
If one of the reasons he came here is because he didnt want to redshirt he isnt going to sit out a year. No way he transfers.
:geaux: Shep has got to be thinking, "Why did I come to LSU to play in big SEC games with championships on the line and then I can't even get in to the Florida game, the biggest game at Tiger Stadium in 50 years!" He's probably thinking that and worse. No earthly reason he didn't get in the game for 10 - 12 touches!:rolleye33: Even as a decoy to at least give the UF defense something else to think about. This kid is too good to sit on the pine IN ANY GAME, much less the biggest LSU game in 50 years in front of a national prime time audience. Shep is a game changing type player and an offensive weapon that's got to be utilized. I agree with some other previous posts that CLM needs to get Shep on the field substantially for the rest of this year or there could be some fallout, i.e. Shep's attitude/wanting to go elsewhere and negative affects on recruiting. Rival coaches will use this against LSU in recruiting if Shep continues to accumulate splinters in his a$$. All they have to do is point to A.J. Green and Julio Jones as examples of freshman who got plenty of PT and excelled. Don't leave out Tyrelle Pryor either. And lets not forget about what Reuben Randle might be thinking right about now as well because of these same issues. Sad situation at present.:nope: Hopefully some things will get corrected in these two weeks before Auburn. :LSU231:
